At this point, Noelle had no intention of going in circles with Laura anymore. She coldly stared at Laura and said, "The Merlock family should've gone bankrupt years ago, shouldn't it?"
Laura's expression shifted slightly. "So you do know everything."
Too bad her earlier attempts to probe Noelle had failed, and they'd wasted so much time for nothing.
Noelle locked eyes with her. "What did you expect? Justice prevails, and the Merlock family will always have to pay for what they did.
"You aren't trying to help your criminal mother escape justice, are you?"
"You must have misunderstood, Noelle. My mom did nothing, and it was the driver spouting nonsense and slandering her." Of course, Laura wasn't going to admit the Merlock family was behind that car accident all those years ago.
It'd been so many years, so no one could possibly find any evidence now.
Noelle looked back at the game unfolding on stage. "You bribed and threatened them, didn't you? That's the only explanation for how this turned into a thrown match."
It was no wonder Laura had been so kind to let the players go. Laura chuckled lightly. "It's all because of you that things turned out this way."
Noelle raised her phone slightly. "Did your mom tell you what was recorded of her?"
"What do you mean by that? What did you do to my mom?"
"Take a guess," Noelle replied. She stared coldly at Laura and warned, "Tell your men to stop threatening the players, or indecent pictures of your mom might start circulating online.
"I'm sure plenty of people would be interested in buying them. After all, she's the mother of the top socialite, isn't she?"
"I never knew you were like this, Noelle!" Laura was absolutely outraged, as if Noelle had committed some heinous, unforgivable crime.
"My parents died unjustly. The murderer has roamed free all these years, and you think I'd just let that go? In your dreams!" Noelle didn't bother hiding the hatred on her face.
Laura snapped, "Do you think the Liddell family's current status is enough to shake the Merlock family?
"When we get to court, it won't be about family status. It'll be about evidence!" Noelle had zero faith in the Merlock family's talk of peace. She knew petty people like them would absolutely destroy the Liddell family if they could.
Laura glanced at her phone and smiled. "You don't want reconciliation, but your brothers don't seem to feel the same."
Noelle frowned. "That's impossible."
"Oh, it's not. Donovan has agreed to talk with the Merlock family. I heard the Liddell family has been struggling financially lately; the Merlock family can help you through this," Laura triumphantly announced.
In her world, there was almost nothing money couldn't solve.
