Soon, the food was served. Noelle looked at the dishes with surprise. "Are these L Bistro's new menu items?"
"Yes. Try them," Cedric said.
Noelle was caught off guard. She tried a few bites. "They're delicious. Very authentic, too."
But she remembered that L Bistro's head chef wasn't from Aldoria. And L Bistro was known to have good homemade Yole food. That left only one possibility. Cedric had arranged this.
Staring at the dishes in front of her, Noelle felt her chest tighten. No one had ever treated her this well except for Cedric. Feeling her emotions welling up, she quickly put down her spoon.
"I'm going to the restroom."
"What's wrong?" Cedric noticed the tears in her eyes and grabbed her wrist. "Is the food not to your taste?"
Noelle shook her head, still looking down.
"Look at me." Cedric bent down to try to catch her gaze, but Noelle refused to lift her head.
He sounded helpless. "Noelle, what's wrong? Can't you just tell me?"
Had he known this setup would make her cry, he wouldn't have prepared this. But he still didn't understand why she was crying.
When Noelle finally looked up, her eyes were brimming with tears. Cedric's heart ached at the sight. He bent down and gently wiped her tears. "What is it?"
Noelle didn't respond. Instead, she leaned in and kissed him. Cedric froze, not quite understanding what she meant by this.
He instinctively tried to pull back to say something, but Noelle didn't give him a chance. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and wouldn't let go. With a determined push, she made him sit back in the chair and then straddled his lap.
"Enough to offer yourself to me?" His hot breath landed by her ear, sending a shiver down Noelle's spine.
She instinctively wanted to dodge, but Cedric pinned her in place. Just like that, the reins were instantly taken out of her hands. His hand gripped her waist as he tilted his head up to kiss her.
This time, Cedric's kiss was far more intense than before. Noelle realized too late that escape was no longer an option. She felt his hand slip beneath her clothes, and her heart skipped a beat.
Her mind buzzed. Now she was really regretting it. Why did she act on impulse earlier? She had stirred the beast and didn't know how to stop him.
Her mind raced, wondering how to put an end to this. Cedric suddenly stood up with her in his arms. Noelle instinctively clung to his neck and looked down at him in panic.
What was he going to do?
