No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 856

Donovan meant everything he promised.

Noelle grabbed Mia's hand and declared, "Let's go!"

Salena tried to stop them again, but Cedric stepped forward and looked her in the eyes. "It's best you stay away from illegal stuff. Otherwise, don't be surprised if you end up behind bars one day."

There was a smile at the corner of his lips and an unmistakable threat in his tone.

Neither Salena nor Donovan was sure how to respond. There was clearly a deeper meaning to Cedric's words.

Cedric stayed behind to cover their exit while Noelle assertively led Mia out the door. The moment they reached the front gate, Mia noticed the luxury car blocking the driveway and the clear tire marks across the lawn.

With just one glance, she immediately understood what had happened and was touched. Thank goodness she still had friends by her side.

"Let's get in the car first," Noelle said.

She sat in the back seat with Mia and held Mia's hand tightly. "Are you sure you're fine? If you need to lodge a report, we'll go with you."

She worried that Donovan might have hurt Mia.

Shaking her head, Mia responded, "I don't want to go back to school. Can you book me a hotel?"

"Come to my place," Noelle decisively announced.

When Cedric heard that, he turned the car toward a different direction as he knew where Noelle lived. Soon, the car drove into an underground garage in a residential complex.

Cedric got out and looked at them. "I'll buy some food. You two go on up."

He knew the ladies needed private space to talk, and he'd also bring back something for dinner.

Noelle nodded and took Mia upstairs.

Mia was in low spirits the entire way. When she sat on the couch, she explained, "Aunt Salena threatened me with Ethan and restricted my freedom to force me to comply."
