After Noelle washed up and changed into her pajamas, she still kept her undergarments on.
After all, Cedric was still in the house.
She stepped out and saw him leaning calmly against her dressing table. He was holding one of her pictures and looking at it.
Noelle blushed and walked over. "You should just go home tonight."
"So quick to be so ungrateful, huh?" Cedric set down the picture and walked toward her, whose eyes showed a hint of wariness.
He helplessly said, "I told you; I won't try anything with someone else in the house."
"When you were in the bathroom, though, you…" Noelle didn't finish her sentence.
His expression turned slightly awkward as he lowered her voice and replied, "I couldn't help it when it comes to you. I'm sorry."
Noelle kept her head down and didn't respond.
He stepped in front of her and softly said, "I'll get going then. I'll come back tomorrow."
He really wanted to fall asleep holding her in his arms, but even more than that, he didn't want her to feel guarded or uncomfortable.
After he changed back into his clothes, his eyes fell on Noelle's back as she stood facing away from him.
He walked up to the door and calmly announced, "I mean it—how I feel about you."
He didn't want her to misunderstand. His feelings for her were real, both emotionally and physically. He was drawn to her in every way.
Noelle heard his voice and suddenly wondered if she'd been too harsh in sending him away.
To be fair, she'd felt something too when they kissed earlier.
Thinking about all the things Cedric had done for her lately, she softened a little and turned to look at him. "It's getting kind of late. Should you just make do here tonight?"
Her eyes shimmered with a touch of shyness as she said it.
Cedric's dimmed eyes lit up instantly. "Okay."
After a while, she felt a soft touch near her ear and instantly opened her eyes in caution, only to meet his deep gaze.
Her voice trembled as she asked, "W-What are you doing?"
He gently brushed the hair away from her cheek and tucked it behind her ear, murmuring, "Good night, Nelly."
After that, he lay back down with his hands resting on his stomach. Then, he lay stiff and proper.
Blushing hard, Noelle peeked at him and tugged the covers closer. Her heart felt warm and sweet.
This was something she'd never felt.
She'd thought she wouldn't be able to sleep, but when she opened her eyes, it was morning.
She noticed she was tightly held in the arms. One hand was wrapped firmly around her waist, and the other had traveled from her lower stomach up and now rested right over her chest.
Noelle's face burned. This jerk had said he wouldn't try doing anything!
