No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 861

With a flushed face, Noelle carefully moved Cedric's hand away.

At the very least, she wanted to get out of bed before he woke up, so things wouldn't be so awkward.

However, the moment she stirred, Cedric woke up. His chin rubbed against the top of her head as he said, "Morning, Nelly." His voice was still nasal and drowsy.

His hand instinctively tightened around her and pulled her snug into his embrace. It was an instinctive reaction.

He thought he was still dreaming, but the sensation in his palm told him otherwise.

Only then did he open his eyes and see Noelle curled up in his arms with his back facing him. Her ears were flushed so red that they looked like they might bleed.

It was only now that he realized where his hands had been.

He quickly pulled back and leaned down to whisper in her ear, "I'm sorry. I thought I was dreaming."

"You didn't keep your promise," she mumbled.

"I wasn't lying. After all, you're always so obedient in my dreams, letting me hold and kiss you…"

"And I could do anything I want" was the part that he left unsaid.

Noelle's back was pressed against him, and it felt like she was leaning against a warm furnace. More importantly, his hands were still wrapped around her waist and showed no sign of letting go.

She couldn't take it anymore. "Let go. I need to get up."

Sensing she'd reached her limit, Cedric didn't tease her further and released her. "You were the one who leaned over to me last night."

Noelle turned to look at him suspiciously. But truth be told, she had restless sleeping postures, and recalling how upright he'd slept, she didn't have much ground to argue.

Blushing, she got up and headed into the bathroom.

Her heart was still racing as she placed a hand over her chest. It felt like his warmth and touch of palm still lingered there.

She snapped out of the thought and splashed her face with cold water. What on earth was she thinking?

By the time she finished washing up and slowly stepped out, Cedric had just returned from outside with a clean set of clothes.

Noelle glanced at it and realized that there weren't any clothes in her room aside from his pajamas. Had he had someone bring these over?

Cedric looked at her, explaining, "I had breakfast prepared. Go and see if you like it. If not, I'll have them change it."
