It was only then that Cedric lit a cigarette and took a drag, his eyes squinting slightly, exhaling a puff of smoke as he calmed down the frustration within himself slightly. He could only truly calm down whenever he saw Noelle.
Cedric took out his phone and instinctively opened their chat log. He stared at their conversation history and began to reminisce about their past.
After Noelle returned to the dorm, she noticed that Mia had surprisingly not yet returned. She wondered where Mia had gone.
Grace looked at Noelle and asked, "You're back here alone?"
"Mia said that she had something to attend to, but I also didn't expect her not to return before me," Noelle replied.
"Could something be happening with the Cantrell family again?"
Upon hearing that, Noelle began to feel worried about Mia. She decided to send Mia a text message.
"I'm already back at the dorm. Where are you? Are you coming back tonight?"
Mia did not reply until after Noelle sent her message.
Noelle then turned to Grace and said, "There's still some time until it's 11 o'clock. Maybe she'll be back soon. There shouldn't be a problem if Eugene is with her."
She would be more concerned if Mia were alone. But ever since Eugene had appeared by Mia's side, Noelle had felt a lot more at ease.
Eugene got along pretty well with Cedric as well, and if anything happened, he would definitely ask Cedric for help.
Noelle put down her phone and went to shower. Mia, however, still had not returned even by the time the dorm's gates were closed.
Noelle checked her phone again and saw that Mia had still not replied to her. After thinking about it for a while, she decided to give Mia a call. The call rang on for a while before it was finally picked up.
Noelle spoke up. "Hello? Are you not coming back tonight?"
"Yeah, I'm still outside right now. I'll be fine; don't worry."
