No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 980

"Since I helped you, how about taking me to the hospital? Then we'll call it even." Cedric hummed.

Noelle hesitated. He added, "I'm in no shape to drive myself."

Noelle glanced at the wound on his arm and remembered he was standing alone by the roadside. After a moment of thought, she nodded. "Alright, I'll take you."

She turned and walked back to Jeremy's car. "Can you take the evidence back?"

Jeremy cocked a brow. "What about you?"

She glanced toward Cedric. "He's injured. I'm taking him to the hospital."

Jeremy leaned against the car window. "Be careful. Some men are good at playing tricks."

Noelle cleared her throat. "He got hurt because of me. The USB might've been lost if not for him, and I'd probably be the one injured."

Jeremy clicked his tongue. He could have saved Noelle if he hadn't taken the wrong turn. Cedric wouldn't have had the chance to swoop in like a hero.

He narrowed his eyes. "Are you saying I didn't contribute?"

"Thank you for helping me catch the guy, Mr. Sulton." Noelle beamed at him.

Jeremy stared at her. "How exactly are you going to thank me?"

Noelle hummed. "I'll treat you to a meal sometime."

Jeremy leaned back. "The place you pick is not up to my standards. I'll send the location, and you pay."

Noelle laughed and nodded. "Deal. Now go take care of your stuff."

The man sneered. "As expected of a rich lady. Your skin's so soft… I could squeeze it all day."

Laura gritted her teeth. "You promised me you'd get that USB back. But now they're gone."

"Do you think I'm stupid? That was Cedric Greene. I'd be done if I showed my face around him. Do you think the Greenes are easy to deal with? We'll need a strategy, sweetheart."

Laura slapped him. "Then let me go!"

The man grabbed her by the neck and cursed, "Who the fuck do you think you are? How dare you hit me?

"Your mom already sold you to me! I'll sleep with you however the hell I want."

Her dress was ripped apart, and she had no strength to resist. Laura's eyes burned with hatred as she watched Cedric and Noelle's retreating figures. This was all their fault.
