Chapter 141 She Doesn’t Care Anymore
“Norris, don’t worry. Since Caleb said three days, then three days it is. If there’s no result after three days, I’ll personally give you an explanation.”
Norris knew when to quit while he was ahead.
“Since you’ve said so, Alfred, I believe you. But I have one requirement. We want to change doctors.”
Norris glanced at Nella beside him. “Even though the investigation results aren’t out yet, we don’t feel comfortable letting Nella continue treating Patrick. You have to understand our feelings as parents.”
Alfred waved his hand impatiently. “Then change doctors.”
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone present looked at Alfred.
Caleb’s expression darkened. “Alfred, do you also think there’s a problem with Nella’s treatment?”
Alfred’s fingers, pressing against his temples, paused as his gaze turning to Nella.
Compared to Caleb’s anger, Nella’s reaction was flat.
Those calm eyes of hers showed that she had already anticipated this decision.
He couldn’t remember how long it had been.
Nella’s attitude toward him had been like this.
No matter what he did, he couldn’t provoke even the slightest emotion from her.
As if, no matter what, she simply didn’t care about him.
Remembering last night when he told Nella to leave that man and her eyes had finally shown emotion, Alfred felt that irritable feeling surge up again.
He glanced coldly at Nella before saying to Caleb, “Caleb, regardless, Patrick’s incident happened under Nella’s care. It’s natural for them to want to change doctors.”
“You…”
Caleb was furious and pointed at Alfred, about to curse, but Nella stopped him. “Professor Fred.”

She glanced at Alfred and said to Caleb, “Since the investigation results aren’t out yet, I should step back. Let’s leave it at that. Once the replacement is confirmed, I’ll transfer all of Patrick’s medical records.”
Caleb looked at Nella’s calm expression and finally sighed.
“Alright. You pulled an all-nighter last night and have been dealing with this all morning. Go home and rest. Leave the rest to me.”
“Okay. Thank you, Professor Fred.”
She nodded.
Not having slept all night, combined with the mental strain of the morning, made her head ache terribly.
After saying goodbye to the other invited cardiac surgery experts and medical team leaders, she left the hospital.
Just as she walked out of the hospital building, Alfred’s voice called from behind her. “Nella, where are you going?”
Alfred had followed her out at some point.
Nella turned to look at him. “Is there something else?”
Alfred’s jaw tightened.
This was a clear sign he was irritated.
“Are you sure Patrick’s incident is related to Zoey?”
Nella paused and said flatly, “Not sure.”
But there was an 80 to 90% chance.
She didn’t tell Alfred this.
Although she suspected Zoey, she still didn’t know exactly how Zoey had pulled it off.
Hearing her answer, Alfred frowned.
“If you’re not sure, how can you say it so confidently in front of so many people? Don’t you know this will…”
He stopped himself mid-sentence when he saw Nella’s utterly unmoved expression.
