Chapter 187 To Divorce or Not To Divorce
Finished
Alfred spoke in a low voice, “If you deliberately avoid this and it causes losses for Keywood Group, I won’t agree to a divorce so easily.”
His gaze gradually turned aggressive.
“I might even take it as you stirring things up because you don’t actually want a divorce.”
After saying this, Alfred stared hard at Nella’s face.
Seeing her brows knit together, his own jaw tensed as well.
The veins in his hand bulged as he gripped the steering wheel
His eyes instinctively avoided Nella’s irritated gaze.
Even though Nella knew Alfred was saying this on purpose, his words still managed to hit a nerve.
She wasn’t afraid of him getting smug about it. She was genuinely worried he might use this as an excuse to refuse the divorce later.
I honestly don’t understand why Alfred suddenly doesn’t want to divorce.
What, did he suddenly get attached to me, his wife in name only, and plan to grow old with me?
The thought made Nella laugh at herself inwardly.
“Fine. If you don’t mind the trouble, then come pick me up.”
With that, Nella slammed the car door shut.
Alfred didn’t drive off right away. He sat there, staring blankly at Nella’s retreating figure.
In the end, he looked away and let out a self-mocking laugh.
Alfred, look at you now.
You married her to keep things simple, and now you’re tying yourself in knots.
You’ve even stooped this low.
In the surgical clinic.
It wasn’t time to start work yet.
Jasmine walked in, holding an Americano, and pushed open the door to Nella’s office.
Seeing Nella taking pills, she asked, “Are you sick?”
Her gaze casually swept over the pill bottles on the desk, and her expression changed.
Nella noticed and hurriedly tried to put the medicine away, but Jasmine was faster and snatched it first.

“Jasmine…”
But when Jasmine saw the names on the bottles, her expression changed instantly.
“Paroxetine, alprazolam?”
Her eyes reddened immediately. “You’re taking these?”
Jasmine’s voice trembled badly.

She was a doctor. Even though she wasn’t in psychiatry, she knew exactly what these medications were for.
Combined with the near-fatal incident Nella had gone through in Glacieroth, it wasn’t hard to put it together.
“Is it PTSD?” As she asked, tears spilled down her face.
Seeing her like this, Nella hurried over and pulled her into a comforting hug.
“It’s okay. I’ve already seen a therapist. At first, I did have nightmares every day, but lately I haven’t been having them anymore. Once I finish this round of meds and go back for a follow-up, I should be fine.”
Jasmine wasn’t stupid. There was no way she believed PTSD could heal that fast.
Nella was obviously just trying to comfort her.
“You’re the one who’s sick, and you’re comforting me?” Jasmine wiped her tears and muttered.
Nella smiled, grabbed a tissue from the desk, wiped Jasmine’s tears, and said, “You know how much I hate seeing you cry. You’re my mom’s star apprentice. If I make you cry, she might actually beat me up.”
