No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 212

Chapter 212 Swirling Emotions

What was he feeling?

Everything was a mess.

When he was yanking Marshal out of that drain, he hadn’t had time to think.

Finished

But now that things had slowed down, the truth slammed into him. He’d been competing for affection with a damn dog this whole time.

His head spun, and his chest twisted in knots.

Only one thought came to him.

“I want to strangle Camelia.”

Mason turned his head. “What’d she do? Try to rob your trust fund?”

Alfred didn’t reply.

How was he even supposed to explain it?

If Camelia hadn’t gone on and on about those precious little lapdogs, he wouldn’t have taken it the wrong way when he heard Nella had one.

He thought about how many times he’d made those nasty, passive digs at Marshal while Nella stood right there. Her face, the way she’d look at him every time, made his skin itch

And tonight? He actually argued with her over the dog like some lunatic.

His chest burned all over again. It was all Camelia’s fault.

Just as he started spiraling again, Mason chuckled darkly beside him.

“Feels good, huh? Crowning yourself the loser in your own affair?”

Alfred’s face went pitch black.

He shot Mason a glare cold enough to turn steel brittle.

“You’re real smug, huh? What, thinking Jasmine might take you back?”

Mason’s smirk dropped. “Are we doing this?”

His jaw tightened. “So this is a mutual beatdown now?”

His tone turned sharp. There was no humor left.

Alfred ignored him and looked ahead. Rolf was walking out of the exam room with Marshal in his arms.

Alfred straightened and moved fast.

Chapter 212 Swirling Emotions

“Is he staying here or going home?”

“I’m taking him. He’s had a nightmare of a night. I’m not leaving him alone.”

“That’s fine. Just be careful when he moves.”

“Thanks, Rolf.”

Finished

Nella gave a nod, then stepped up and reached for Marshal. But before she touched him, a pair of arms swept past and took him first.

“I’ll handle it.”

Nella narrowed her eyes. “I’ve got it. He’s not heavy.”

Marshal weighed barely five pounds. He was about the size of a newborn. The pup was little over a month old.

Even with Alfred suddenly flipping the switch, she didn’t trust a damn thing about it.

A few hours ago, he wanted Marshal gone. Now he was acting like he’d raised him.

God only knew what was going on in that head of his.

There was no way she was just handing Marshal over.

“I’m stronger. He’ll rest easier.”

Alfred didn’t wait. He just took Marshal from Rolf’s arms like it was already settled.

Rolf gave him a closer look this time. Something about him rang a bell

He smiled politely. “And you are?”

Nella opened her mouth. She was about to say he wasn’t anyone worth naming.

But Alfred cut in first.

“I’m Nella’s husband.”

Rolf paused.

So did Nella.

Rolf clearly had no clue how weird this whole thing really was.

He just nodded, thinking Alfred was her husband.

He looked back at Nella. “Ms. Milo, if your husband wants to do it, let him hold Marshal. His rib’s injured. Shifting him too much won’t help.”

Nella didn’t move right away. Then, after a second, she slowly pulled her arms back.
