No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 226

Chapter 226 PR Reasons

“It’s for PR purposes.”

Alfred leaned in and spoke quietly near her ear.

“I had Sergio take extra pictures. The PR team’s gonna use them to kill the marriage rumors.”

Nella got it right away.

“Then let’s keep things casual. If it looks staged, it’ll just backfire.”

Alfred nodded slightly and reminded her again under his breath.

The elevator was small. Sergio huddled in the corner, mentally drafting a whole rom-com script about a powerful CEO wooing back his icy wife.

The East Manor sat right across from the hospital. Alfred carried Marshal as he and Nella stepped outside together.

They had barely made it past the gate when Richie slowly rolled up in a shiny Bentley.

“I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“No need. It’s just across the street.”

Nella pointed ahead and turned him down without hesitation.

Then something clicked. She turned toward Sergio.

“Sergio, do we have enough photos?”

“Should be good. I’ll send them over for the team to sort through. Thanks for working with us, ma’am. If we need more, I’ll let your … I mean, I’ll have the CEO speak with you.”

That was close.

He nearly slipped and gave the world’s pettiest man an excuse to dump him in a satellite office out in Fricana.

Nella gave Sergio another look. Something about him seemed off today.

Still, she didn’t dwell on it. Before heading off, she reached out and gently rubbed Marshal’s head.

“Now you be a good boy. Don’t cause trouble.”

Marshal gave a small, sharp bark like he understood her completely.

The traffic light blinked red. Nella walked across.

Sergio watched her go, then turned to the smug man next to him and muttered under his breath.

“Boss, that move was genius.”

He gave Alfred a solid thumbs-up.

Last night, he couldn’t figure out why the guy wanted him to forward some random breakup gossip right to his phone.

Now he got it.

That whole ‘setting the record straight’ plan was just a cover to cozy up to his wife.

Figures.

Total schemer. Or rather, a sharp and glorious CEO.

Alfred gave him a silent glare that clearly said, “Zip it,” and climbed into the car still holding Marshal.

Sergio scrambled in after him. Once he buckled in, he spun around and grinned.

“Boss, all the toys, canned food, and treats for Mr. Marshal were sent to your office this morning.”

“Nice work. I’m doubling your bonus this month.”

Sergio’s eyes sparkled like light bulbs on full blast.

“Thank you, sir! And thank you, too, Mr. Marshal!”

Marshal looked confused.

Sergio stared at him with admiration, like he was some blessed charm in a fur coat.

Mr. Marshal, your most loyal servant awaits!

Nella’s place was far from the Keywood HQ, and rush hour didn’t help.

By the time Alfred showed up at the office with Marshal, the staff had already clocked in.

The sight of their always-aloof CEO walking in with a golden retriever pup left the whole floor speechless.

Was that … a dog?

Did the boss actually bring a puppy to work?

Was Keywood’s legendary no-nonsense vibe about to go soft?

Weirdly enough, it kind of worked.

Big bad wolf. Tiny golden pup.

The combo was oddly perfect. By noon, everyone already knew the story.

That little pup was Nella’s fur baby brother. She was too busy to look after him, so Alfred brought him in and handled it himself.
