No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 225

Chapter 225 He’s Got a Point

To be fair, Alfred’s plan wasn’t half bad.

She didn’t have to play pretend for the press, and Marshal would actually get proper attention.

It’d also kill off the split rumors wrecking Keywood Group’s image. Nella saw no reason to say no.

She nodded. “All right. I’ll let you take Marshal.”

As soon as Alfred heard that, his whole body eased up. He quietly exhaled.

“Awesome. I’ll swing by early to get him tomorrow.”

His mouth pulled into a smile he didn’t bother hiding.

The next morning came.

Nella had just finished her routine and given Marshal his meds when the doorbell rang.

She went to check, then blinked in surprise. It was Alfred.

It was barely 7:30. That was a bit early.

“I’m picking Marshal up.”

Marshal was still resting in his little bed. But the moment he heard Alfred’s voice, he lifted his head and let out a low bark.

Nella stepped aside and let him in. That’s when she noticed the insulated lunchbox in his hand.

He handed it to her. “You probably haven’t eaten. I brought breakfast,

She paused, then took it. “Thanks.”

She headed to the table, opened it, and found a sandwich made exactly how she liked it.

She recognized his style. Alfred had made her this a few times before.

He crouched beside the dog bed and gave a soft greeting.

“Marshal, it’s me, Nella’s husband.”

That label still made Nella wince a little.

But Alfred looked right at home using it, like it suited high.

Marshal nudged his head against Alfred’s palm like he understood every word.

Alfred grinned. That tiny gesture made his whole morning.

They always said the fastest way to your wife was through her little brother. That was dead-on.

Sure, his wife still kept her walls up, but she wasn’t slamming the door in his face anymore.

He owed that to Marshal.

He leaned in and whispered to the pup, “I stocked up on your favorite snacks.”

Marshal’s eyes lit up instantly. His floppy ears gave a little twitch.

Alfred waited until Nella grabbed her things. Then he gently picked up Marshal.

“We’ll head out together.”

Nella didn’t argue. She gave a short nod.

When she opened the front door, Sergio was already standing there with a clean-cut smile.

“Sergio?”

“Morning, ma’am.”

He looked extra eager today.

“When did you get here? Why didn’t you come in?”

He smiled even wider. “You’re too kind, ma’am. I just got here.”

He stepped aside with a respectful gesture. “After you, ma’am. After you, sir.”

Nella glanced at him, frowning a little at that weird grin.

As Alfred stepped out with Marshal, she followed close behind. That’s when she heard something clicking.

She spun around. Sergio was holding up his phone, snapping shots of her and Alfred like a man on a mission.

“Sergio, what do you think you’re doing?”

She’d been married to Alfred for three years. Things weren’t perfect, but Sergio had always shown her

respect.

She actually liked him more than Alfred most days.

Even now, with him sneakily taking photos, she didn’t get mad. She just looked confused.
