Chapter 231 Anger
Finished
The staff breakroom had mostly cleared out. A few nurses were still hanging around, huddled together, eyes glued to their phones as they cursed under their breath.
When Nella walked in, they immediately waved her over.
“Dr. Milo! Over here!”
She walked up with a smile.
“What’s going on? You all look fired up.”
One nurse shoved her phone toward Nella, showing her the video she downloaded.
“Look at this. Tell me if that’s Marshal in the video.”
Nella leaned closer and saw the video. Her smile vanished fast.
Marshal looked so small in the video. He was pressed against a wall, barely moving. He didn’t run around. He didn’t bark once.
Even when someone walked toward him, he just crouched there quietly. He didn’t growl. He didn’t fight. That woman hurt a newborn pup who hadn’t even barked.
Nella’s eyes filled with tears as she watched.
They had pulled security footage last night. The storm drain was right at the mouth of the alley, just outside the camera range. Nothing got recorded.
She couldn’t wrap her head around it. The drain had a lid. How the hell did Marshal end up down there?
If it weren’t for this clip, she never would’ve known what actually happened to him.
“Dr. Milo, don’t cry. He’s safe now. At least he came back to us.”
The nurse leaned in and gently tried to comfort her.
Nella wiped her eyes and gave a quiet thank-you.
“That sick freak’s gotta have money. The video was barely up before it got yanked off the internet. I tried reposting it. It gets deleted in seconds. Damn rich monsters!”
The nurse clenched her fists, furious.
That was the first time Nella heard the clip had gone viral hours ago. Everyone had seen it. The internet had exploded with outrage.
People were furious at what had been done to Marshal.
But now, just a few hours later, it was like it never happened. The clips, the posts, the hashtags-gone.
Whoever was behind that woman had serious pull. Not just money. Power.

Chapter 231 Anger
Finished
“Dr. Milo, isn’t your husband the CEO of Keywood Group? People online are saying he’s crazy about Marshal. You should ask him to find that psycho! Let him show her what happens when you mess with the wrong dog!”
The nurse started tearing up. “Poor Marshal… he didn’t deserve that.”
Nella’s lips twitched when she heard Alfred’s name.
This wasn’t his mess. It was hers. She had no right to drag him into this and ask him to spend his money or time chasing some woman down.
And if that woman really had influence, even Alfred would pay a price for digging into her.
She wasn’t in a position to ask.
Not with divorce looming over them. She didn’t want to owe him anything.
This time, it was just Marshal’s misfortune. He crossed someone too powerful.
After lunch, Nella went back to the surgical building.
She sat down and shut her eyes. She had a major surgery that afternoon. She couldn’t let this video rattle her.
Then her phone chimed.
She glanced at the screen. Alfred had messaged her.
“My brother-in-law is way too cute.”
The message came with a video of Marshal happily chewing through canned food. Next to him was a bowl of goat milk.
He ate with his tail wagging, pausing now and then to grin up at Alfred.
There were a few photos, too, all of them showing Marshal lying down after the meal, looking full and
content.
