No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 244

Chapter 244 The Trauma

Finished

“The day after you left Nella behind in Glacieroth, she went hiking alone. There was a quake that triggered an avalanche. She got buried alive and almost died out there.”

Jasmine locked eyes with Alfred after revealing that. She saw the shock ripple through his pupils, and for a split second, she gleaned some grim satisfaction from his reaction.

“Alfred, while you were out sightseeing with Zoey for two weeks, Nella was fighting for her life. If you had cared even a little—just enough to ask her what she was doing in Glacieroth or even bothered to check the damn news-you’d have known something happened.

“But no. You only had eyes for your ‘sweet little Zoey. You didn’t know Nella’s been waking up screaming from nightmares. You didn’t know she got diagnosed with PTSD and now she’s on meds and seeing a shrink.

“And just when she finally started to heal with Marshal’s help, you dragged her right back into hell. Alfred, you make me sick. You seriously don’t even deserve to be breathing!”

Jasmine’s fury flared again. Her jaw locked so tight the muscle visibly twitched down her neck.

Alfred’s face went completely white. He didn’t speak. Didn’t blink.

One thought slammed through his head on repeat.

He was done for.

There were plenty of times he could’ve known something was off with Nella.

But he didn’t ask. Not once.

Did he ever think about her back then?

Yeah, he did.

But all he did was mope and wonder why she stopped calling. Why she stopped texting. She used to share every moment of her life with him.

So, he got petty. Decided if she didn’t reach out first, then he wouldn’t either.

Why?

Why the hell did she always have to go first?

Why couldn’t he just pick up the damn phone? He wanted to scream that question at himself. Why did it have to be her every time? Why couldn’t he give her a sliver of what she always gave him?

Right. The contract. That stupid, self-righteous contract he made her sign.

He used it as a free pass to freeze her out and pretend she didn’t matter.

He saw her taking pills. He saw her walk into the therapy office with his own two eyes. Yet he still ignored it.

Chapter 244 The Trauma

“Alfred, if you really feel even a shred of guilt, then divorce her. Leave her the hell alone:

Jasmine’s voice was cold and sharp, like glass straight to the chest.

Mason stood to the side, frozen the whole time.

He watched his wife rip hard into his friend and didn’t dare interrupt.

Nella almost died.

Yeah. That explained a lot.

He glanced at Alfred, feeling both sorry and pissed.

Honestly? He was tired of saying “serves you right.”

It didn’t even hit the same anymore.

Jeez.

Compared to that, Alfred got smacked by karma. Hard.

Mason didn’t want any of that coming his way. He’d rather not get caught in the fallout.

“Babe, come on. That’s enough. Alfred’s about to cry.”

Mason stepped closer to Jasmine and spoke quietly.

He didn’t dare raise his voice. If she exploded again, he was toast.

“Cry? Good. Let him cry until he can’t breathe anymore.

Jasmine shot back, then stayed right where she was.

H&Fished

She hadn’t told Clifford or Felicia yet. She wasn’t going anywhere. Not while Nella was still in that hospital room. She would guard their daughter in their absence.

A few minutes later, the rest of the Keywoods showed up. Regis walked in with them.
