19 Finished
Alfred clamped down on her wrist with so much force it looked like he was about to snap it in two.
“Say it! What the hell do you mean she almost died under the snow?!”
“Let go of me, you piece of shit!”
Jasmine shouted as she twisted hard, trying to rip herself free.
Mason’s face dropped as soon as he saw it.
“Alfred, let go! You trying to break my wife’s wrist?! Let go of her right now!”
He rushed over and grabbed Alfred’s arm, but the guy wouldn’t budge.
Even with both hands, Mason couldn’t pry Jasmine loose.
Alfred looked like a madman. His eyes were bloodshot and wild.
He locked in on Jasmine like a predator, voice shaking, jaw clenched.
“What do you mean she almost died under the snow?! Say it!”
He didn’t blink.
Jasmine narrowed her eyes, as if she’d just found the perfect way to make him suffer. Her wrist looked wrecked, but she held on, didn’t flinch, didn’t speak.
She glared straight at him and sneered.
“Why should I tell you anything? If you really gave a damn, maybe you wouldn’t have spent two weeks playing house with your side piece.”
“Baby, please! Just say it! He’s gonna snap your wrist for real! Just tell him already! Please!”
Mason was practically jumping up and down in panic.
“Shut up! You’re just like him! Get out of my face!”
Jasmine screamed at him, voice raw with pain.
Mason looked crushed, totally wrecked.
But he knew Alfred was seconds away from doing real damage, so he turned and begged.
“Alfred, let her go, man! I’m serious! Her wrist’s gonna break! Just let go! She’ll talk, I swear! Come on, let go already!”
Desperate, Mason threw a punch and nailed Alfred in the face. There was a hard smack as skin met bone.
Blood split from Alfred’s lip, but he didn’t react.

He let go of Jasmine and stood there, silent.
Then he stepped toward her, head down, voice low. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that
He raised his head again, and the anger was gone. Just desperation.
“Please. Tell me what happened to Nella.”
Jasmine clutched her wrist. Her eyes were cold and disgusted.

She looked at his face. His eyes were raw, rimmed red like he hadn’t slept in days. None of it looked fake.
She stared at him for a moment. Her voice turned wary.
“You seriously don’t know about it?”
Alfred looked down and gave a small nod.
His fist clenched at his side. Deep down, he already knew it had something to do with the two weeks he was
gone.
Jasmine rolled her eyes and scoffed.
“Of course you don’t. You were too busy cuddling up with your precious little Zoey to give a damn what Nella went through, alone, in a place she didn’t know.”
Her voice cut like a blade. Alfred didn’t defend himself. He didn’t move. All he could do was take the mockery.
“Please. I’m begging you.”
His lips trembled. He looked like he might fall apart any second.
Jasmine studied him one last time. Her voice was icy.
“Fine. Since you don’t know, I’ll tell you.”
