No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 26

Chapter 26 Can’t Wait to Divorce Me?

Alfred froze.

His smile vanished, replaced by a flicker of shock.

He almost forgot their three-year contract still had two months left.

The deadline was on their third wedding anniversary.

Almost three years of marriage had made him used to Nella and their everyday routine.

Finished

This whole marriage thing wasn’t as awful as he’d imagined. Honestly, after the wedding, it felt

natural.

It felt so comfortable that the contract slipped his mind.

But seeing Nella bring it up so casually and remembering the exact date made it seem like she wanted it over sooner.

He didn’t know why, but it twisted something in his chest.

He studied her calm face, then let out a sharp laugh. “Wow, you remembered the date perfectly. Can’t wait to divorce me, huh?”

Nella paused, puzzled by the bite in his tone.

Why was he upset? Wasn’t that what he wanted?

And why did she remember the date so clearly?

They signed the agreement the day they got their marriage license. That was their anniversary.

She’d held onto the date for two years, hoping to spend that day with him.

But Alfred never remembered.

She still remembered because she couldn’t just wait around for their relationship to end.

“It’s just the truth. Only two months left on the three-year term.”

She didn’t flinch, kept eating, and answered as casually as if they were just chatting.

Alfred pressed his lips together silently, but the weight of his presence hit Nella like a physical force.

Finished

That pressure started tearing through her calm. The restlessness she’d been holding back crept

She thought about seeing a therapist soon. She didn’t want to become someone who couldn’t handle her feelings.

“Weren’t you here for Mason? He’s back.”

Nella watched Mason walk in, his face stormy.

Clearly, his talk with Jasmine hadn’t gone well.

Nella felt a rare flicker of satisfaction.

A cheating jerk is getting divorced? Serves him right!

But Alfred didn’t move. He just stared at her, his eyes unreadable. “Who told you I came for him?”

Nella stopped eating, surprise flashing in her eyes. “So … you’re sick?”

If she remembered correctly, Keywood Group’s medical branch was Apex’s top private hospital, staffed with elite and catering to the rich and powerful.

If Alfred was sick, why wasn’t he at his own hospital? Why show up at hers?

Alfred’s mouth twitched. He gritted his teeth and said deeply, “Maybe think for a second. I came to see you.”
