No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 281

Chapter 281 The Ship Had Sailed

“I don’t remember Alfred ever depending on Nella this much before,” Archie muttered as he watched Alfred’s unsteady back, deep in thought.

“This is what you call chasing your wife after losing her. You don’t

get

it?” Ryan said.

“Chasing what? Losing her? Is it this bad?” Archie asked, confused.

Ryan had no words.

Forget it. Not worth explaining.

Honestly, Alfred might as well have killed himself with alcohol.

If Nella’s heart isn’t completely hardened yet, maybe she’d still be willing to collect his ashes.

Ryan had just finished that dark thought when a loud thud came from ahead.

“Alfred!!” Archie shouted.

The three of them rushed forward.

Alfred was kneeling on one knee at the entrance of the bar. There was fresh blood at the corner of his mouth.

“Oh

my gosh, Alfred threw up blood,” Ryan blurted out.

As he said that, Alfred’s vision started to blur.

Right before he lost consciousness, he heard Archie shout, “Quick! Call Nella. Tell her Alfred drank himself sick and threw up blood!”

Apex Medical University Hospital.

Jasmine was on a night shift. When she saw the three men rush into the emergency room in a panic, she frowned.

When she looked closer at the man Archie and Ryan were holding up, her frown deepened.

“What happened to him?” she asked.

“He drank too much and started vomiting blood,” Mason replied, standing beside her.

His tone was careful, almost flattering.

“Honey, let them check him first. And maybe…” Mason gently squeezed Jasmine’s shoulder. “Maybe call Nella and let her know.”

Jasmine immediately brushed his hand away, annoyed.

“Why call Nella? She’s not a stomach specialist.”

“No, I mean-”

“Mason, if you don’t know how to shut up, get out,” Jasmine snapped impatiently.

Mason closed his mouth at once.

He looked at the unconscious man on the ER bed with a mix of pity and quiet amusement.

Dude, I really tried my best.

After providing emergency treatment, the doctor moved Alfred to a hospital room and gave a serious warning to the staff.

“The patient has stomach bleeding. His esophagus and stomach lining were badly irritated by alcohol. He must never drink like this again.”

“Okay, we understand. Thank you, doctor,” Mason said.

After the doctor left, Mason stood in the room, exchanging looks with the other two.

“Mason, what do we do? I tried calling Nella, but she won’t pick up,” Archie said, holding Alfred’s phone, clearly stressed.

“Nella saw it was Alfred calling. Of course she didn’t answer,” Ryan said, giving Archie a helpless look.

He then took out his own phone and called Nella.

After two rings, the call connected.

“Hello, who is this?” Nella’s voice came through, rough and sleepy.

It sounded like she had been woken

Ryan felt guilty and spoke carefully. “Nella, it’s Ryan.”

There was a brief pause on the other end. Then her tone turned cooler.

“What is it?”

“Well, Alfred has stomach bleeding. He’s in the hospital. Do you want to come see him?”

As soon as Ryan finished speaking, the man on the hospital bed slowly opened his eyes.

After a brief silence, Nella’s calm, distant voice came through the phone.

“I’m not on duty tonight. I’m not at the hospital.”
