No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 292

Chapter 292 Playing the Blame Game

“Patrick, did you fall for that slut too?” Zoey screamed at Patrick, her voice sharp and angry. “She’s trying to send Mom to prison, and you’re still defending her!”

Patrick didn’t have the energy to argue.

He waved his hand weakly and said, “When you torture me like an enemy, did you ever remember that I’m your brother?”

That one sentence stopped Zoey cold.

Her eyes flickered with guilt and impatience.

“So what, did that woman fill your head with ideas again?” she snapped. “Didn’t I tell you it was the caregiver who wanted to hurt you? What does that have to do with me?”

Patrick stared at her without blinking. After a long moment, he let out a bitter, self-mocking laugh and said nothing.

After his surgery, he spent most of his time half-asleep. He barely spoke to the caregiver at all.

They had no grudge against him. Why would that person try to hurt him?

His sister was beyond reason now. Stubborn. Dark-minded. Twisted. Patrick didn’t even have the strength left to argue with her.

“I’m useless,” Patrick finally said. “I can’t help you with this. Alfred spoils you, doesn’t he? Go beg him.” He paused, then added, “Mom’s case can end up with light or serious consequences. It all depends on whether Alfred is willing to step in.”

With that, Patrick lay back down and closed his eyes. He refused to say another word.

Zoey’s face changed when she heard this. A trace of guilt crept in.

She remembered the moment Alfred had almost killed her. Her body shook without warning.

Norris stood nearby, his brows tightly furrowed. He had worries of his own and didn’t stop the siblings’ argument.

But when he heard Patrick’s last words, his thoughtful gaze turned sharply to Zoey.

“That’s right,” Norris said slowly. “Alfred was willing to take down those videos for you previously.” This time, he’ll help again.”

Norris didn’t know what had happened at the hospital. He had no idea what his daughter had

In his mind, Alfred was still the old childhood friend who gave Zoey whatever she wanted.

“Zoey,” he continued, “go talk to Alfred again. If he steps in, your mother’s case won’t be hard to solve.”

Norris didn’t take Eileen’s arrest seriously at all.

It was just a dog. At worst, they would pay some money. If Alfred got involved, Nella could make all the noise she wanted online, and it still wouldn’t matter.

What Norris truly cared about was something else.

The early payment for the Kraron project still hadn’t been transferred to his company.

He was afraid that pushing too hard would upset Alfred.

But without a clear answer, he felt uneasy.

“While you’re talking to Alfred about your mom,” Norris said, “casually ask him when the advance payment for the Kraron project will come through. Don’t be too direct. Otherwise, he’ll think we’re rushing him for money.”

He kept talking, completely unaware that Zoey’s face was growing darker by the second.

“Enough already,” Zoey snapped coldly. “Why does everything have to go through me?” Her voice was filled with irritation. “All these years, how many benefits have you gotten from Keywood Group because of me? Can’t you think of something yourself? If I keep asking him for things, won’t Alfred start hating me?”

Norris froze, stunned by her sharp and impatient tone.

Still, he knew the truth. The only reason his family could get favor from Alfred was because of his daughter.

Even though he was upset, he still chose to placate her.
