Chapter 332 Wesley’s Feelings
“If you’d just stayed back then, Alfred wouldn’t have even made it near Nella.”
Wesley’s brows twitched. He didn’t respond.

Some things just didn’t happen the way you wanted. When the timing was off, everything else went sideways too.
Back then, Nella had her whole heart set on Alfred. She even skipped grades to catch up to him.
How the hell was he supposed to win against that?
If marrying Alfred had been her dream, and if Alfred had actually loved her, then maybe he would’ve backed off.
But who could’ve guessed Alfred would dump her in the middle of that freezing nightmare?
The second Wesley saw her being pulled off that stretcher, something in him snapped.
That scumbag really left her there.
When he found out later it was because of Zoey Mack, the regret burned through him like fire.
He should’ve fought harder.
He shouldn’t have let
Alfred barely lifted a damn finger and got her. Why couldn’t he have done more?
“You still have a shot, you know,” Caleb said, finally breaking the silence.
He continued, “Nella’s not giving that bastard another chance. Just don’t push it. Let her finish the divorce first.”
Wesley smiled faintly.
“Relax, Professor. I’d never pull her into anything messy.”
“Good,” Caleb said with a nod.
He clapped Wesley’s shoulder. “Let’s go. Lunch is on me.”
“Too late. Sunny already offered. Don’t steal her thunder.”
“Sunny?” Caleb gave him a puzzled look. “Who the hell is Sunny?”

“Uh… my cat.”
“Get out of here.”
Caleb kicked him in the leg.
Ashgrove Café, Apex Medical School.
“Professor, order whatever you want. Lunch is on me today,” Nella said with a bright grin as she looked at Caleb.
Caleb snorted through his nose. He cut a glance at Wesley sitting beside her.
“Somebody said I wasn’t welcome. Planning to eat everything by himself?”
Wesley didn’t reply right away.
Then he looked at Nella, straight-faced.
“She invited me. You showed up unannounced. You’re the one who made it awkward.”
“It’s not awkward at all.” Nella jumped in without missing a beat. “It’s an honor to treat both of you.”
She passed the menu to Wesley. “You too. Don’t hold back.”
Wesley took it, smiling.
“Thanks, Nella.”
The way he said it curled at the end, smug and teasing. Caleb shook his head.
If that guy had a tail, it’d be wagging nonstop.
But before the mood could settle, a sharp voice interrupted everything.
“Nella.”
Her smile dropped instantly.
She looked up. Alfred stood next to the table, face unreadable.
His eyes locked onto Wesley with a look that was anything but friendly.
Then he looked away, grabbed the empty chair on Nella’s left, and sat down like it was his seat all along.

“Mr. Fred. Been a while.”
Caleb gave a stiff nod. He glanced at Alfred, then at Wesley, and suddenly felt like he’d walked straight into a landmine.
He was already regretting coming.
Wesley, however, looked completely relaxed. There wasn’t a single flicker of tension in his face as Alfred sat across from him.
