He stared at Regis for a few seconds, then nodded.

“Yes, Grandpa.”

Hearing him say “Grandpa” shocked the two bystanders watching.

“What happened to Grandpa?”

“He fainted from the shock, but he’s okay now,” Nella explained.

“Alfred, Grandpa was upset by our cousin,” Camelia whispered.

“Cousin? What cousin?”

Camelia glanced toward the room, where Sebastian and Priscilla were sitting with him.

“He has a daughter outside, and she had a son,” Camelia explained quietly, piecing things together.

Alfred looked skeptical. “Grandpa couldn’t possibly have a daughter outside, could he?”

“Why would I lie? Her name is Tolina. I heard it myself.”

“Tolina?”

Alfred’s expression changed slightly. “You didn’t mishea?”

“Of course not. Nella was there too; she heard it.”

Camelia pointed to Nella. “Right, Nella?”

Nella nodded.

“I’ll go check on Grandpa.”

Alfred stepped forward and quietly opened the door.

Nella and Camelia stayed outside.
