Chapter 373 See You Tomorrow
“Nella, was I too talkative last night? Did I keep you from getting any rest?” Wesley turned to Nella.
How could Nella possibly blame Wesley? She even felt that she had disturbed his rest instead.
So she quickly said, “Of course not. I was the one who reached out to you first. I’m the one who kept you up.”
Wesley smiled and shook his head. “No, I actually enjoyed our conversation yesterday. We can talk more next time.”
Nella didn’t think too much about it and nodded easily.
“Sit down and eat first. Don’t just stand there.”
Nella didn’t let either of them to set the table. She herself quickly walked into the kitchen.
She really didn’t know what was going on with these guys-arguing even over setting the table.
Will they be fighting over inheritance next?
Nella guessed idly in her heart.
Thinking of the over 10 billion dollars Alfred had given her as a divorce settlement, her brow twitched slightly.
He won’t take it back, will he?
Her thoughts were all over the place as she headed into the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Wesley looked at Alfred and gave him a smile that was hard to read.
Watching the interaction between the two of them, Alfred’s face darkened completely.
Jealousy, bitterness, and a sharp sense of resentment welled up inside him.
At the same time, a heavy wave of regret washed over him again.
All of this should have belonged to him.
Everything that was once within his grasp could now be easily replaced by someone else at any moment.
Just thinking about it, that overwhelming regret drown him completely.
Felicia quietly observed the dim look in Alfred’s eyes and shook her head inwardly.
Back then, she had truly thought Alfred was a great chore for a son-in-law.
In her eyes, his manners, education, and family background had all been beyond reproach.
She never imagined he’d be so hopeless when it came to matters of the heart.
Now, watching him try to win her daughter over, she didn’t know what to say anymore.
She couldn’t bring herself to be cruel, but she also couldn’t pretend she held no resentment toward Alfred.

She would simply play the role of a decent mother-in-law during these last days before her daughter’s divorce.
After the meal, everyone else was in a good mood, except for Alfred, whose frustration had nowhere to go.
After lunch, Wesley sat for a short while, then stood up holding Sunny, and headed upstairs.
“Clifford, Felicia, I’ll go pack my luggage upstairs. See you tomorrow.”
Hearing Wesley call them by name after just one meal made Alfred feel even more stifled.
And packing luggage? Seeing them tomorrow?
Are they going out together?
His gaze shot toward Wesley, just in time to meet Wesley’s smiling eyes.
“Cousin, I’ll be heading out.”
Under Alfred’s murderous stare, Wesley softly closed the front door for Clifford and the others.
Seeing that Alfred still had no intention of leaving, Clifford and his wife exchanged looks. They opened their mouths, wanting to politely see him out, but felt awkward doing so.
In the end, Felicia spoke first.
“Alfred, did you come today for a reason?”
After all, as her soon-to-be ex-in-laws, there wasn’t really any need for them to keep in touch.
