No Renewal My Contract Husband (Nella and Alfred) novel Chapter 94

Chapter 94 A Cold Answer

Alfred lowered his gaze to Nella, a trace of apology on his bloodless face.

“Did I cause you trouble?”

“Yeah.”

Alfred felt speechless at her honest answer.

“Let’s

go

inside.”

With no other choice, Nella had to brace her whole body against Alfred and support him into the ER.

The ER at Apex Medical was always swamped.

Especially during flu season, the entire emergency hall was packed with people.

Even the emergency surgery waiting area was full.

“Sit here.”

Nella helped Alfred sit in a chair in the waiting area and went over to the emergency surgery herself.

She was back a few minutes later.

“There are too many people waiting. I’ll just treat you myself.”

“Okay.”

Nella took Alfred into the treatment room and grabbed saline, antiseptic, and sutures.

She picked up a pair of scissors and carefully cut away the gauze on Alfred’s hand.

“Ow!”

The man’s low cry of pain made Nella’s hands pause.

She looked up at Alfred and met his pitiful gaze.

She frowned. “Does it hurt?”

Alfred nodded quickly.

Chapter 94 A Cold Answer

“Bear with it.”

Alfred fell silent.

He thought he’d see worry and concern in her

:

eyes.

Instead, she only gave him three cold words: bear with it.

Without another word, Nella continued.

Alfred pressed his lips together and watched her silently.

Once the gauze came off, the white fabric was soaked through with bright red blood.

The torn skin was swollen and curled outward.

“The wound is too large and too deep. It needs stitches. I’ll clean it first. Hang in there.”

Nella said this while pouring saline over his wound.

Alfred gave a low response and quietly watched the woman busy in front of him.

After cleaning the wound, she applied a local anesthetic.

“Local infiltration anesthesia takes five to ten minutes. Sit and rest. I’ll get a tetanus shot and antibiotics from a colleague.”

With that, she walked straight out of the treatment room, not waiting for Alfred to speak.

Alfred had planned to talk to her during those few minutes. But Nella didn’t even give him that chance.

He thought she’d be back soon. But he waited and waited, and she still didn’t appear.

Ten minutes passed, and the treatment room door opened.

Nella came in right on time.

She was holding a bag of medication.

“Where did you go?”

Alfred lowered his eyes and asked softly, his tone carrying a hint of grievance at being abandoned.

Nella looked up at him with a strange expression and said, “I told you. I went to get the meds.”

“Why did it take so long?”

He still sounded wounded and needy.

😀

“I had to line up,” Nella replied flatly, clearly not interested in saying more.

She took out the sutures and pulled Alfred’s hand closer.

“I’m stitching it now. Don’t move.”

Alfred said nothing.

Nella didn’t need a response, just his cooperation.

Her suturing was excellent. Fast, neat, and clean.
