No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 563

Vincent froze, caught completely off guard. He stared at Scarlett, genuine confusion written all over his face. "What?"

Scarlett tilted her head up at him, a bright smile playing on her lips. "I said, feed me."

Her voice had that sweet, coaxing quality to it—the kind of tone that made it impossible to say no. For a moment, Vincent just sat there, completely thrown.

There was a time, a long time ago, when he'd seen this side of her. The playful side. The soft side.

But it had been years since she'd spoken to him like this.

After so long of nothing but cold stares and distant words, hearing her sound almost... affectionate felt surreal.

When Vincent didn't respond, Scarlett tilted her head slightly. "Vincent?"

He blinked, snapping out of it, his eyes locked onto hers. "Yeah?"

She smiled again, wider this time, and batted her eyelashes just a little. "You don't want to feed me?"

Vincent hesitated for a second, then reached over to the nightstand and picked up the container. He shook his head, almost to himself. "No. I do."

He opened the lid and stirred the ribs with the spoon, watching the steam rise. Then, carefully, he blew on it to cool it down.

Scarlett watched him, momentarily stunned.

She'd only said those words to get Damian to leave. To make him jealous enough to back off.

But Vincent's reaction? She hadn't expected that at all.

Once the soup had cooled enough, Vincent brought the spoon to her lips.

She took a small sip, her eyes fixed on him, and then said softly, "You know, you look really good today."

Vincent's brow furrowed immediately.

Scarlett noticed, and her expression shifted into something almost curious. "Why the frown? It doesn't suit you."

She reached up and gently pressed her fingers against his forehead, smoothing out the crease between his brows.

Vincent didn't pull away. He let her touch him. But once her hand dropped, he looked at her with obvious confusion. "What are you doing?"

Scarlett's gaze flickered briefly toward the door. Damian's head was still there, just visible from the corner of her eye.

She steeled herself, bit down on her resolve, and gestured for Vincent to come closer. "Lean down for a second."

Vincent frowned, suspicious now. "Why?"

"Just do it," she said.

He leaned in, his face close to hers. Scarlett tilted her head up like she was about to kiss him—but then she saw the figure outside the door finally disappear.
