No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 613

When Vanessa heard her father's question, she nodded quickly. "Yeah."

Then she looked up at him curiously. "Daddy, why won't you talk to Grandma and Grandpa?"

Vincent kept eating, his expression completely unreadable. "No reason."

Vanessa hesitated for a moment, then tried again. "They're really nice, though. Can't they just come in and have dinner with me? I know Mommy's annoying and all, but Grandpa and Grandma are actually pretty okay."

Vincent's face darkened with every word she said. The moment she finished, he slammed his fork down on the table.

The sharp clatter made Vanessa jump. She flinched, her whole body tensing up, and immediately dropped her gaze to her plate without another word.

Vincent stared at her for a long moment, then pushed back from the table and headed upstairs.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, he could see them—Diana and Henry still hadn't left. They stood there in the cold night air, like they'd made up their minds about something.

The sight of them made his mood curdle even more.

His temper was barely contained. He grabbed a photo from the nightstand drawer and headed back downstairs.

As he passed through the living room, Vanessa didn't even dare look up.

The cold energy radiating from him seemed to seep into her from every direction.

When he stepped through the front gate, Diana spotted him first. She nudged Henry urgently. "He's coming."

Vincent walked toward them slowly, and without a word, he flung a stack of photos in their direction.

The pictures scattered across the ground. Diana looked down and froze. It was Damian, leaning down to kiss Scarlett.

"I—"

Before she could get a word out, Vincent pulled a hundred-dollar bill from his pocket and threw it onto the damp pavement. He turned his face away, his voice sharp with contempt. "That's for your ride home. Now get the hell out of here and stop dirtying my doorstep."

Under the orange glow of the streetlight, his expression was twisted, almost unrecognizable.

Henry and Diana both stared at him, shock and disbelief written all over their faces.

If he could treat elders like this, it wasn't hard to imagine what Scarlett must have gone through all these years.

Even after Vincent's cruelty, Henry still tried to hold onto some hope for his daughter's sake. He opened his mouth, ready to ask when Vincent would finally agree to the divorce.

But before he could speak, Vincent cut him off with a snarl. "I said take the money and get lost."

The words died in Henry's throat.
