No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 622

Scarlett had been on edge the whole time. When she realized Nathan was asking about that, the knot in her stomach finally loosened.

She hesitated for a moment, then answered him seriously. "Nathan, we're just friends. He's from a wealthy family, and I'm not. We come from different worlds."

Nathan nodded. "The gap is definitely there."

But then, almost as an afterthought, he added, "Still, it might be worth thinking about."

Scarlett froze. "Wait... what did you just say?"

In all the years she'd known him, Nathan had always been wary of her getting close to anyone from that kind of background. But tonight, he'd said something completely unexpected.

Nathan looked at her gently. "Scarlett, Damian didn't just save me—he's been good to you too. I can tell he genuinely cares about you."

For a moment, Scarlett didn't know what to say.

Nathan could feel her hesitation. He reached out and gave her head a soft pat. "Think it over. This time, I'm not going to make that choice for you."

Scarlett wanted to tell him she'd already made up her mind—she didn't want to go through all that pain again.

But before she could get the words out, Nathan said quietly, "Scarlett, he's not Vincent."

The words caught in her throat.

Upstairs, Violet had grown worried that Nathan might be too hard on Scarlett. She'd come up to listen, and only relaxed when she didn't hear any raised voices.

She knocked lightly on the door. "Nathan, Scarlett—the housekeeper made pasta. We're waiting for you two to come down."

From inside, Nathan answered, "Got it. We'll be right there."

Violet said, "Don't take too long."

Then she headed back downstairs.

She'd barely sat down when Nathan and Scarlett appeared at the top of the stairs.

Damian, more anxious than anyone, shot to his feet the moment he saw Scarlett.

"Scarlett," he called out before he could stop himself, his voice thick with worry.

Hearing him, Scarlett looked over.

The concern on his face was so plain—it made her think of what Nathan had just said.

Was he really someone worth considering?

She pushed the thought aside before it could take root.

Nathan guided Scarlett downstairs, where the housekeeper had already set out plates of pasta.
