No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 636

His gaze trailed after Scarlett as she walked away, and a sharp, uneasy sensation shot straight through him.

The person who once belonged only to him no longer did.

At that thought, Vincent's jaw tightened unconsciously.

Just then, his phone buzzed. It was Sabrina.

He picked up, and her voice came through, warm and expectant. "Vincent, are you coming to the show tonight? I saved you a seat."

"Yeah," he said. "Text me the address."

He lingered a moment longer before finally turning to leave.

When he arrived at the venue Sabrina had sent him, the performance was just about to begin.

He found his spot and settled in as the lights dimmed and the first notes filled the hall.

On stage, Sabrina stood in a simple white gown, looking every bit like a storybook princess come to life.

A soft murmur swept through the crowd.

"She's gorgeous."

"And the way she plays... It's like listening to angels."

"Lucky is the guy who ends up with her."

"I'd give anything to be with someone like that."

The whispers washed over Vincent, one after another.

He flexed his fingers slowly, feeling a faint, private sense of pride.

Maybe being with Sabrina wouldn't be so bad after all.

After the final bow, a wave of people surged toward the stage—asking for autographs, handing her flowers, a few even mustering the courage to confess their feelings right then and there.

The noise of the crowd began to grate on him, so Vincent slipped outside.

He stood by the entrance, letting the chill evening air hit his face, his eyes tracing the thick blanket of snow on the ground. Marrying Sabrina... maybe it really wouldn't be such a terrible idea.

Outside the concert hall, watching people come and go under the streetlights, Vincent let his thoughts drift.

Remembering how Sabrina had shone under the spotlight, something softened inside him.

Maybe this was the best path forward—for both of them.

Still, even as he thought it, a hollow feeling lingered in his chest.

He stayed by the door, lighting one cigarette after the next.

His eyes had started to sting from the smoke when he heard a gentle voice beside him. "Vincent."

The moment the weight of the coat settled around her, Sabrina's eyes turned red. She couldn't hold back any longer—she stepped forward and buried herself in his chest, arms tight around him. "Vincent, I..."

He held her, one hand coming up to cradle the back of her head. "I'm sorry," he murmured. "I haven't been there for you lately."

Sabrina shook her head hard, words failing her.

After a long moment, Vincent gently drew back. "Come on," he said quietly. "Let's get you home."

She nodded, sniffling softly. "Okay."

Vincent took her hand, then, seeing her red-rimmed eyes and nose, leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

Sabrina closed her eyes, savoring the touch. It felt as if a weight she'd carried for months had finally lifted.

When he straightened, Vincent kept his arm around her shoulders. "Let's go."

Together, they made their way down the steps, their footprints marking the fresh snow as they walked toward the car parked by the curb.

And at that moment, a figure stepped out from the bright lobby of the concert hall. It was Daniel.

He'd come to the performance tonight, too. But Sabrina's attention had been fixed on Vincent all evening. She never even noticed he was there.

And by the time Vincent led her away, she likely still didn't know Daniel had been in the audience.

A bitter taste filled Daniel's mouth. Quietly, he clenched his fists, and something cold and hard settled behind his eyes.
