No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 783

The heavyset woman's brute strength sent Scarlett flying backward. As she tumbled toward the floor, her injured leg twisted awkwardly against the ground, and crippling, sharp pain crashed over her entirely in a split second.

She pressed a palm tight to the aching wound and tried to stand, but her body wouldn't cooperate.

Glancing around, she spotted streaks of fresh crimson blood spread all across the floor.

Scarlett tilted her head up, searching for the stout woman's husband, yet the man was nowhere to be seen. Unexpectedly, her eyes landed on Vincent, who was descending the theater staircase while holding Sabrina's hand.

Her whole frame went weak and boneless, and she blurted out instinctively, "Vincent, help me."

She had no clue how loud or faint her voice sounded, only desperate to escape her current predicament.

The raging woman beside her was wildly unpredictable; if she flew into a murderous frenzy, stabbing Scarlett next was far from impossible.

Vincent had clearly caught her cry, and his already uneasy heart sank further with alarm. He'd started to twist around, only for Sabrina to yank his hand back sharply. "Don't go over there, Vincent. Let's leave right now, I'm begging you."

Terrified he'd refuse her plea, Sabrina's tone dripped with desperation. Vincent's mind went blank for a beat, stripped of all rational thought, and he let himself be led away by Sabrina.

Scarlett knew nothing of his inner conflict. All she witnessed was him walking off without a shred of mercy, even though he'd laid eyes on her dire situation.

Over on the floor, the flashy-dressed woman lay stabbed and defenseless, yet the bulky attacker kept raining blows down on her helpless victim.

Gripping onto a nearby chair for support to pull herself upright, Scarlett caught sight of a man cutting through the lingering crowd to rush back inside.

It was Damian.

Patrons hadn't fully filed out of the auditorium yet, and Damian had fought his way upstream from the entrance.

His arrival felt like a beam of light cutting through pitch-black darkness.

The second Scarlett laid eyes on him, her heart thumped violently against her ribs, and her eyes instantly stung with welling tears.

Spotting Scarlett's distressed state, Damian's face clouded over with raw worry. Before he could reach her, he called out in a soothing rush, "Scarlett, don't be scared. I'm here now, honey, hold on for me."

The sound of his voice instantly calmed the panic swirling in Scarlett's chest.

Sharp, stabbing aches shot up her wounded leg, but she clung to the chair back and shuffled slowly toward him little by little.

It wasn't long before Damian pushed through the remaining crowd to her side.
