No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 812

In Maria's mind, she wanted Sabrina pregnant as soon as possible. Once there was a baby, Sabrina's place in the family would be locked in.

With Vanessa hanging around like an unwanted third wheel, any plans for a new child kept getting put off indefinitely.

When this perfect chance popped up that evening, Maria jumped at the opportunity to take Vanessa away.

Vanessa, however, fought tooth and nail against leaving. Tears streaked down her cheeks as she clung to Sabrina and begged, "Sabrina, don't make me go. I don't wanna leave, I just want to stay with you."

The little girl's clinging whines stoked Maria's simmering anger until it boiled over. She tossed aside all restraint, stepped forward, and dragged Vanessa out from behind Sabrina.

She pinched the child hard on the arm and snapped sharply, "Come with me right now. Refuse, and Sabrina will abandon you—you'll end up a stray nobody cares about."

Vanessa yelped from the sharp pain and wept, struggling to break free. Yet Sabrina stayed impassive, then wrapped a gentle arm around the girl and coaxed, "Vanessa, just stay a few days there, okay?"

Vanessa sobbed uncontrollably, terrified under Maria's furious glare. She squeezed tight to Sabrina's frame, refusing to let go or depart.

Maria's patience snapped entirely. She lurched forward, hoisted Vanessa off her feet, and pinned the squirming kid in place before turning to Sabrina. "Bring her stuff down."

Sabrina hummed an acknowledgement, grabbed the luggage, and headed downstairs alongside them.

Vincent was shut away in his home study, seemingly oblivious to the commotion upstairs, and never came out to check on the racket.

Still, as Maria's group trundled down the staircase, the sound of Vanessa's desperate crying drifted to his ears.

As her father, he knew her well. The way she was fighting meant she didn't want to leave Sabrina.

But their wedding preparations piled up ahead, and sending Vanessa to stay elsewhere for a spell was genuinely in her best interest.

At the very least, she'd get uninterrupted rest each night.

Oakland Villa was swamped with decorators and delivery crews lately, all the constant bustle bound to disturb the young girl's sleep.

So no matter how heart-wrenching Vanessa's cries grew, Vincent chose to tune out every sound.

After dropping off Vanessa's things, Sabrina hurried straight back to Ravenshade Villa. Lingering there would accomplish nothing at all.

The second Sabrina left, Maria fixed a menacing stare on the teary child and snarled a threat, "Quit crying this instant. Let out another whimper and I'll split your tongue open."

Frightened by the harsh warning, Vanessa clamped down hard on her sobs, silencing her cries entirely.
