Scarlett sat in the front seat, her heart heavy with anxiety.

Noticing her low spirits, Damian could not help but speak up. "Are you still scared?"

Scarlett fell silent for a moment before answering quietly. "Damian, Vincent is not someone you can easily deal with. He will never tolerate infidelity. We're still legally married. If he finds out I've betrayed him, he will never let this go."

Damian turned his head, his gaze steady and earnest as he studied her face. "Do you want to leave him?"

Scarlett looked back at him and nodded firmly. "Yes. I do."

Damian reached over, took her hand, and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Then don't be afraid. I've told you before—no matter what happens, I will always be the one standing in front of you. Only me."

His words washed over her, calming her restlessness for no reason.

She held his gaze, speechless for a long moment.

Finally, she nodded. "Okay."

Damian smiled at her reply. "It's alright. You can't run from these things forever. You need to close this chapter with him properly."

Scarlett nodded again. "I know."

His eyes softened as he continued watching her. "If you're too afraid to take that step, leave it to me. I'll tell him we're together."

Scarlett dropped her gaze, torn over whether they should tell Vincent the truth.
