**TITLE: He Chased 235**
**CHAPTER 0235**
**ELIZABETH’S POV**
“Well, it seems everyone has their first time for everything,” Jessica remarked, her voice light and casual, as if we were discussing the weather rather than my complicated feelings.
“Actually, I’m not just anyone,” I shot back, my tone laced with defiance, almost scoffing at the very idea. “And you’re absolutely right—there’s no way I’m giving up on Roman. Not now that I know he’s wealthy enough to propose with a one-in-a-million diamond ring. If I manage to win him over, my family and I could become billionaires overnight.” The confidence in my voice surprised even me, but saying it aloud made the fantasy feel tangible. The mere thought sent a rush of adrenaline through my veins, quickening my heartbeat.
“Now that’s the Elizabeth I remember,” Jessica said, pride evident in her voice, as if she had just succeeded in pulling me back to reality. “But what’s your plan regarding this risky situation? Remember, your best shot at him is through seduction. There’s no way he’ll fall for you unless you can make him forget about her.”
“Why do you think that?” I asked, arching an eyebrow, genuinely intrigued by her certainty.
“Why do I think that?” she echoed, her voice rising slightly in disbelief. “Elizabeth, you have the face of the woman he’s in love with! How do you expect him to fall out of love with her and then fall in love with the same face? It’s utterly ridiculous.”
Her words landed with the precision of a sharp blade, slicing through the fantasies I had so carefully woven around Roman. It was a stark reminder of the reality I was trying to escape. I fell silent, allowing the weight of her statement to sink in, each syllable resonating in my mind.
She had a point—one far more significant than I was willing to admit. Deep down, I understood this truth, yet I had never paused long enough to truly contemplate it. It clarified everything. It explained why my every attempt to capture his attention had failed. Why he didn’t seem desperate for my affection, why he didn’t look at me with the same longing as he did for her. To him, I was merely a reflection of Lauren. Why would he ever leave her for me?
“You’re right…” I finally managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper, the realization stinging sharper than I anticipated.
“I see where you’re going with this,” I continued slowly, allowing my thoughts to align like pieces of a puzzle. “Once I seduce him, I could fabricate a story about being pregnant with his child. That would give me the upper hand. That’s my only shot at securing Roman Hale.” The idea crystallized in my mind, each element fitting together seamlessly as if it had been there all along.
“Now, the real challenge,” Jessica interjected quickly, “is how you plan to seduce him after he’s just proposed? Even living under the same roof, that would be a precarious situation.”
“Then I’ll take the risk,” I declared boldly, my voice igniting with a newfound determination as a daring plan unfolded in my mind. It felt reckless, dangerous—perhaps even foolish—but it also felt like something only I had the audacity to attempt.
“The biggest risk of them all, to be precise,” I added, already envisioning how everything would transpire.
“What risk are you talking about?” Jessica asked, her voice tinged with confusion and a hint of apprehension, as if she sensed that my next words would not sit well with her.
“When I arrive at their place tomorrow,” I said, my tone calm and collected, as if I were discussing an ordinary errand. “I’m going to walk straight into Roman’s room, take off my dress right there, and he won’t be able to resist what comes next.”
“That sounds like a ridiculously foolish plan, you do realize that, right?” she finally replied, skepticism dripping from her words. “How do you expect to pull that off when Lauren will be around?”
