They looked at each other again. Tyrone asked, slowly and clearly, “You can use Daniel’s money. Why can’t you use mine?”

Aella didn’t back down. “This is my choice. I have no right to keep your money.”

The truth was, this money came from her parents after she agreed to marry Daniel.

They also told her that Tyrone had never kept the money for himself. He had given it to them as a backup, without telling her.

Since he believed the money came from Daniel, she let him believe it.

Her words–no right–hit Tyrone hard.

He stepped back again and again until his back reached a streetlight pole.

Still unwilling to give up, he asked one last time, “Aella, I know I hurt you. I don’t expect forgiveness. I just want the truth. Do you really like Daniel? Have you really thought this through?”

“This feeling of being loved and cherished. I never got from you.”
