Chapter 567 Keep You Company
Robin said, “I heard Edwin has woken up. In that case, transfer whatever shares he has left to Tyrone.”
Ralph knew perfectly well what the McCarthys were guarding against.

He said, “Dad, I can hand over everything I own, but I don’t have the authority to transfer my father’s shares to Tyrone.”
Robin’s tone was unwavering.
“Ralph, the shares in Edwin’s hands must belong to Tyrone. The Winter Group can only be inherited by Tyrone. You must divorce my daughter–and every cent you own must be handed over to her, with both hands!”
Robin added, “If you can do those things, my daughter can divorce you for Tyrone and Raine’s sake–but she won’t leave the family. I’ll give you one last chance.”
Robin added, “Of course, you can also refuse.”
Ralph didn’t even know how he made it out of the McCarthy residence.
Standing at the gate, watching the lights glowing inside, Ralph felt utterly alone–like someone the world had abandoned.
After who knew how long, Ralph picked up his phone and made a call. “File a flight plan. I’m going to Mudrus.”
At the same time, at the Reids‘.
After Aella finished their holiday dinner with her parents and brother, she cleared off the coffee table in the living room.
With the TV on, the family gathered around the coffee table, making cookies while they waited for Christmas to roll in.
As she watched her parents laugh and talk, Aella found herself thinking of Tyrone.
Virginia and Raine were spending the holidays with the McCarthys. They’d asked Tyrone to stay, too–he’d refused.
Aella had invited Tyrone to spend the holidays with the Reids as well, but Tyrone hadn’t agreed.
Tyrone wasn’t close with Ralph, so there was no way he’d be celebrating with him.
She had no idea how he was spending this holiday.
Aella made an excuse to use the bathroom and secretly called Raine.
She learned Ralph had flown to Mudrus overnight, and Tyrone was alone at Bluehaven Residences.
Aella felt worried–and aching for him.
When she came out, Aella hesitated for a long while before telling her parents what was going on with the Winters.
Aella tested the waters. “Mom, Dad… I want to go check on Tyrone.”
Warren didn’t stop her. “Tyrone’s the reason the Reids still have anything left. If he won’t come here for the holidays, then go see
him.”

Miriam stood up. “Tyrone likes my roast turkey and ribs. Bring him some.”
Warren reminded his daughter, “Aella, take some extra cookie dough too. Put them in his freezer.”

Late at night, Tyrone stood alone on the open balcony off the living room.
Looking at the distant high–rises lit up with thousands of windows, Tyrone felt hollow–no clear sadness, and not a trace of holiday cheer.
He opened his WhatsApp chat with Aella, stared at the screen, hesitated–then turned it off.
She should be at home right now, sitting happily with her parents and brother.
Hearing movement in the living room, Tyrone turned and went inside.
Aella, slightly out of breath, set two oversized, multi–tier food carriers on the coffee table. “Tyrone–I’m here to keep you company.”
Aella took off her coat. “Have you eaten dinner?”
Tyrone lowered his eyes, took it from her, and set it on the couch behind him.
Aella’s face softened with heartache, but she managed a smile. “It’s okay–I’ll eat with you.”
Then, Aella opened the carriers and brought out the dishes her mother had made, one by one.
“My mom cooked this turkey for you right before I left.
“I brought the barbecue ribs, too.
“And broccoli.
“And some pastries our housekeeper made.”
Aella jogged over and put the cookie dough into the freezer. “My dad said they have to be frozen, or they’ll go bad.”
Tyrone’s gaze stayed fixed on Aella as she bustled around.
His eyes dropped to the roast turkey still sending up wisps of heat on the coffee table.
Tyrone’s eyes reddened at the corners.
He’d thought he was destined to endure this holiday night alone.
He hadn’t expected the Reids to be still thinking of him.
Not only had they sent him a holiday meal, but they’d also agreed to let Aella come keep him company.
Aella brought over two sets of utensils and noticed something off about Tyrone.
