Tyrone turned to leave, but Virginia caught his arm. “Tyrone, the Hills aren’t just any rich family. It’s not worth making an enemy of them over two pieces of trash.”

He hesitated, then steadied his mother with a soft, practiced calm. “Don’t worry, Mom. I know what I’m doing.”

Brad had said it. Aella’s parents had said it. Even his own parents had said it. “Don’t burn the bridge with the Hills over Zera and Shirley.”

He understood their intentions. They were trying to protect him. It wasn’t that he was afraid of that mother and daughter.

But Zera’s hostility toward Aella was genuine. He couldn’t leave her with any loose ends.

Tyrone left Winter Estate and drove straight to the Hills‘ private hospital on the west side of the city.

At exactly 10:00 a.m., Michael was in the middle of discussing Zera with his parents and two younger brothers in the hospital director’s office when Tyrone arrived unannounced.

“Mr. Winter.”

Michael personally ushered Tyrone inside. Thomas had Daniel serve drink for him.

In the sitting area of the office, Tyrone undid his suit jacket and sat down with effortless

composure.

He didn’t speak at first, but everyone in the room already knew why he was there.

After Daniel set the tea in front of him, he retreated to sit beside his parents.

Thomas spoke first. “Mr. Winter, what happened with Zera and Anna was their fault. The Hills failed to discipline them. The blame is

ours.”

He lowered his posture to make it clear that he wasn’t looking for a fight.

Lilian followed quickly. “Mr. Winter, Zera and Shirley have already been punished. We’ve mostly settled things with your parents. Name your price. The Hills won’t bargain.”

Tyrone rolled the delicate cup between his fingers, eyes lowered like he was turning the thought over.

Then he said evenly, “Ruining my engagement, injuring me, and humiliating my fiancée … money doesn’t fix that.” He paused, letting the tension mount.

“Besides, the Winters and the Reids don’t need the Hills‘ compensation.”

The atmosphere sharpened immediately.

Tyrone went straight to the point. “For the sake of our families‘ long friendship, I don’t want to make things difficult for the Hills,”

Lilian forced a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Mr. Winter, I know Zera and Shirley are awful. Your fiancée suffered because of them. If you want to punish them, we won’t stop you. But, for the sake of the Hills, can you at least leave them a way to live?”

Tyrone’s expression didn’t change. “Mrs. Hill should know,” he said flatly. “People who cross the Winters don’t get happy endings.”

Thomas and Lilian’s faces turned grim.

Tyrone made it plain. “Mr. Thomas, you can protect them for a day, maybe a week, but not forever. I didn’t come here to negotiate. I came to inform you.” Then he turned and walked out.

Michael followed him to the door. “Mr. Winter, could you give us some time to discuss this and get back to you?”

Tyrone glanced at his watch. “Because I’ve known Lysander for years, I’ll give you until tonight. I want your final answer before then.”

After Tyrone left, Thomas slammed a teacup onto the floor, shattering it. “That useless bitch! Since the day she arrived at the Hills, she hasn’t done one good thing.”

Lilian sank onto the couch, exhausted. “If Tyrone refuses to let it go, are we really going to become enemies with the Winters because of them?”

Daniel cut in. “If Grandma insists on protecting Zera and Shirley, then yes. The Hills will end up against the Winters.”

Michael’s face fell. “Even if you haven’t experienced Edwin and Ralph’s methods firsthand, you’ve heard the stories. Now it’s Tyrone running the Winters. He took over the Winter Group at a young age, silenced everyone on the board, and reorganized the overseas branches in just over a month. He’s going to be even harsher than his grandfather or father. A man like that can’t be offended.”

Lilian slumped back, looking like she’d aged years in an hour. “But Zera is your uncle’s only bloodline. Your grandmother has made it clear that she’d rather die than let Zera go. What are we supposed to do?”
