Ysabel ignored the student as she spun. Her feet tore through the air, but Godfrey wrapped his fingers around her ankle and stopped the blow.
He tightened his grip, spun, and slammed her into the ground. Web-like cracks spread outward across the pavement blocks as blood spurted out of Ysabel’s mouth.
She couldn’t even twitch, as that blow broke several bones. Her bloodshot eyes trembled, following Godfrey, who looked at the student that had healed. Apparently, his summon had a self-healing ability, but the shock of what had happened kept him silent.
Rick squinted. ’I did not predict that outcome. This Godfrey is no weakling, but his advantages are useless before him. I would have loved to put him in his place, at least as courtesy for messing up with Nexus, where we all came from. But hunting is more important for now.’
With that thought, Rick turned his summon and galloped away. Meanwhile, Ysabel was teleported away after being deemed unable to continue the tournament. Godfrey, of course, accepted her challenge and reaped half her points, which was just thirty.
The first thing he bought from the fountain was a map, and through it, he learned that all fountains had different resources, making the hunt for fountains even more intense.
On it were also marked the zones of the mini bosses, paths of wandering Lord Tiers, top-level High Tiers, hordes of Elite Tiers, and the final boss.
Godfrey’s eyes locked on the final boss zone, which appeared to be on the outskirts of the city.
Currently, strong students were after the spots of the mini bosses, the reason being that points varied. The points of an Elite and High Tier were different from those of a Lord Tier.
The twenty points gained from a wandering Lord Tier were called Lord Points and might as well be two hundred points, and to purchase top-grade cores, he needed top-level High Tier points or Lord Tier points!
Meaning, those who killed mini bosses would get a hundred of these Lord Tier points and fifty daily, amounting to a thousand points for killing the mini boss and five hundred points daily.
Realizing this made Godfrey’s eyes widen. His advantage was only temporary; once the mini bosses were killed, he would be surpassed effortlessly.
He could kill wandering Lord Tiers, but they were incredibly powerful and gave far fewer points than killing mini bosses, which were also Lord Tiers.
The entire scheme was designed to ensure students battled for the positions of mini bosses, or at least defeated the students in those positions and reaped their bountiful points.
What this meant was that killing randomly wouldn’t allow you to stay on the leaderboards.
Luckily, each class would be ranked differently after the overall ranking, so weaker students weren’t completely left out.
Still, Godfrey knew his competitors. Maybe the seniors were in a league of their own, but he was up against the Nexus King, the mysterious Percival, his Ace, Isolde his Queen, and others who had been in hiding, like Ysabel.
The competition just got tougher than he expected.
Sighing, Godfrey dropped the map, which had all this information, at his side and looked at the dark sky. ’So they want all of us to fight for the spot of mini bosses but ignore the final boss, which gives a thousand Lord Tier points and possibly five hundred Lord Tier points daily?’
Godfrey shut his eyes. ’It’s powerful, I get it, but I’ve never sat at the top before. Second, sometimes, third. I also dream too small. Everyone wants the best, and I just want to match them. I guess I’ve always been trying to survive in a world of summoners, but I’m a summoner now.’
