One year and two months later, it was a new semester for Manhattan High students. Godfrey’s peers were now entering the school to begin their senior year.
Police patrols were still more common than usual around the globe, but it had dropped to about ten percent of what it once was. The previous year had been terrible for Manhattan Summoner’s High after a student murdered three hundred policemen, and Manhattan was accused of training a humanoid summoner, resulting in the imprisonment of the headmaster.
Sitting in the third-year students’ class, Janet looked out the window, staring at those coming in with her friend.
"First day of the semester," Gum Girl said, smirking as she watched sleek cars drive into the wide entrance where students came in from.
"Now that they’re seniors, the dorms don’t apply to them anymore. Most of them are pretty rich, and of course they’ll be showing off their status," she said while looking at the cars.
From the white one, Snow came out of the backseat. As he shut the door, the car drove out of the school. Now 186 cm tall with a more mature and sharp jawline, he slung his white backpack over his shoulder, walking toward the building while gathering attention to himself just by walking.
"I heard Snow spent his break in Egypt. He’s obsessed with getting stronger despite breaking several world records. His summon isn’t even the Glimmer Wing Butterfly anymore," Janet said softly.
"Whatever it is now, it’s clearly made him more handsome. Snow’s just modeling our uniform for free. The school should pay him, the new additions in our class came because of his picture on the billboard," Gum Girl said with wide eyes, following Snow’s movements.
Suddenly, two black cars drove in. Their quality stood out even amongst the other vehicles, and from the look of the dragon brand on one and the snake on the other, they were custom-made cars, made just for members of the strongest families in this region.
As the back doors of the one with the dragon brand opened, Isolde and Lucy came out. Now in their eighteenth year, both girls had fully developed figures, and with Isolde’s regular visitation to the gym, her figure was beyond admirable.
And, of course, as a young woman who valued the upkeep of her looks, her porcelain skin was glowing.
Her golden-orange eyes went to the opposite car from which a black-haired eighteen-year-old stepped out with a calm face.
His irises were crimson and reptilian, a look achieved through Echo, but it made his eyes a trap for the ladies.
However, when his eyes met Isolde’s, they turned ice cold.
"Leander Ouroboros," Janet said, staring at the tall, 190 cm senior. He came to Manhattan last year and was like Godfrey 2.0, but more dominating, and had all the past seniors, which was Percival’s class, at his back.
He became King, had great wooing skills that quickly made him popular, but Isolde, Manhattan’s Queen, was his arch-nemesis.
Isolde was the giant dragon that ruled the skies, and Leander was the titanic snake that dominated the earth.
"Ouroboros is the second most powerful family in this region. Leander is their most promising heir, Isolde is the best of her generation, but why does Leander want to defeat her and prove he’s superior?" Gum Girl pouted.
"They could become close like how Isolde was with Godfrey. I mean, they’re so similar. Both crazily good-looking, both insanely wealthy, both have dual summons that are really powerful, and they also have this dominating air around them," she added.
