Chapter 279: Even The Eyes Of The Blind Widen

The chains binding her arms loosened and fell to the ground as huge muscular men with intimidating helmets and double-edged axes attached to long poles burst out, all six of them racing toward her with overwhelming ferocity emanating from their eyes.

"Kill her!"

Excited screams filled the air as the executioners closed in. Isolde went for her spear but one of the executioners was already before her, swinging his axe with a sinister smirk visible through the opening on the helmet.

Isolde fell to her knees. She leaned back, her knees scraping against the sand as she slid past the first executioner, wrapped her hand around the shaft of the spear plunged into the ground not far from where she once stood.

’Entertain you? Me?’

Eyes sharpened like blades. Her fingers tightened around the shaft and she used it to spin her body. That move sent her flying right back to the executioner and her feet struck his face.

"That’s solid metal—!" Words fell from the general’s mouth when Isolde’s feet sank into the helmet. The force twisted the man’s head almost twice before he hit the ground, dead in one blow.

Isolde landed, sand rising up as her feet slid to a firm stop. Her hair waved along with her skirt as she pulled out the spear and leaned back as if she was about to plant her head into the ground.

With that evasive move, Isolde dodged the sweep of another executioner’s poleaxe. The gleaming edge of the blade reflected in her golden draconic eyes as it flew right past her face.

She pinned the spear behind her and flipped her body upward. Her feet struck the executioner’s chin, lifting him off the ground while she completed her backward flip, then thrust the spear right through the executioner’s throat.

The spearhead came out the back of the man’s neck. He hung on her spear, his feet a few inches off the ground as blood dripped down.

Silence filled the arena.

"How can she suspend a man with one arm?" A man trembled, pointing at the dead executioner who dropped to the ground as Isolde pulled out her spear and flung it. That action removed the blood on the blade as it splattered on the ground.

Chaos ensued.

"Is that even a woman?!"

"Your wife doesn’t even look as good as her. Of course she’s a woman!"

The remaining four executioners looked at each other and three of them raced towards Isolde. One started and the other two followed, closing in on her from three different fronts.

Isolde’s eyes gleamed softly. She saw that the one left behind could create a dust cloud and another would kick sand into her eyes, blinding her temporarily which would result in a huge cut to her thighs.

That injury would send her to her knees and she would lose her head.

He was the variable, the twist in the general’s tale.

Seeing this, Isolde lowered her body, stretching one leg to bring her torso low enough as the executioner’s were already looming over her.
