Both of them bolted toward each other but as they were about to clash, Godfrey suddenly became invisible.
The emperor cut through thin air but turned sharply when he sensed something behind. It cut through the air once more but Godfrey was below.
Though the emperor noticed in the next moment, it was too late as Godfrey thrust one of his dual swords right through the chainmail up the emperor’s chin.
Flames billowed out from his teeth and when he opened his mouth, they came out like his own carbon dioxide was flame.
Godfrey pulled out his sword, coating his swords in the sun flames before driving it down the chainmail into the emperor’s chest. The emperor dropped to his knees while Godfrey collapsed back first.
"Frey!!" Her scream pierced his ears. As delightful as her voice was, it hurt a bit. He was just that sensitive in his current state. His eyes reflected the dragon soaring toward the palace ruins.
Impatient, Isolde leaped from the dragon’s back, plummeting straight to the ground like a missile. Dust burst from the earth, rising up as she landed but still couldn’t bring herself to touch him.
He was covered in burn wounds and barely looked alive.
"Frey..." Her lips quivered.
"I’m alright." Godfrey forced a smile. Suddenly, the armour pulled away from the dead emperor, piece after piece, flew toward him and assembled, each piece finding its place on Godfrey’s body.
The fragile dying man reflecting in Isolde’s eyes transformed into a terrifying armoured existence. She saw that the emperor had been sucked dry until he became a shriveled skeleton.
Isolde’s eyes widened. She tried pulling the armour off but the armour had already tapped into Godfrey’s body, draining the last of his mana.
Before everything went black, Godfrey wished he could tell Isolde that it was hopeless trying to damage the armour.
’What a strange man.’ A voice rang.
What?! The armour could speak?!

A pair of blue eyes opened. Godfrey blinked as he looked around, a bit confused as he stood in a hallway with one of the biggest doors he had ever seen before him.
This was his castle but this door was almost three times the size of other doors and carved into it was the same armour the emperor wore.
The door creaked as it slowly went inward, revealing a short staircase that led to a broad space where the Crimson Taotie Soldiers assembled.
The cavalrymen and the footmen, all standing like statues.
"How?" He muttered. Right then, all the taotie soldiers split and a being walked out. It was the armour. The black tattered cloth from the tassets billowed like shadows, slowly accompanying the clicks of metal against the ground.
Upon ascending the staircase, Godfrey eyed the armour, this strange relic staring right back at him as if sizing him up.
