Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights novel Chapter 398

Chapter 398: Mother & Son

His prestige amongst the people was already down, this was tarnishing the image he was trying to imprint into their minds for them to treat him like a god.

He was on his path to developing a new skill that would increase his strength by a great amount.

For that, he couldn’t allow Godfrey to take another step.

Suddenly, a crack appeared in his room and Gabriel stepped out.

Saul turned. "What are you doing here?"

"You’ve lost two summons already. It’s obvious you need help." Gabriel smiled softly, his handsome face and shoulder-length golden hair made him look harmlessly good-looking.

He was the last person you could suspect of doing wrong.

But his appearance made Saul’s face turn ugly. "You brought him here!"

"Of course. I thought our Captain could handle just one young man." Gabriel tilted his head, his smile growing wider.

Saul scoffed. "You mock me?"

"I don’t. You see, there are people called Chosen Ones in our world. They are just too unique, they just can’t die like that. Have you read books with protagonists before? Yes, that’s what Chosen Ones are... just the best kind of people our world loves." Gabriel began.

There was no way he would mention the Favoured Ones.

He cleared his throat. "Godfrey is a Chosen One, that’s why he’s so unique. That’s why he has all these summons and is so strong. But defeating him is easy. After all, our world has what we call balance, even the most overpowered skill has a counter out there somewhere."

"Go straight to the point." Saul said coldly.

"You’re limited by your own rule or you could have sent both summons to eliminate him. However, you’ll draw hate from the public so... make him withdraw from the public’s eye, then kill him in the dark." Gabriel sat on the bed and crossed one leg over the other.

Saul squinted.

"I see you don’t follow. Send a threat. Lose horribly in the next match or I’ll make sure beyond all doubt that you shall bury your mother in forty-eight hours." Gabriel’s eyes gleamed.

"No reasonable man will risk the life of their mother for a match that won’t add or remove much from their personal lives." Gabriel rose to his feet.

"Do that and you’ll give the tournament a closure, then hunt him without restrictions." With those last words, Gabriel left.

Saul stood there, basking in the silence of his room and the moon’s soft glow.

Maybe he would send a letter to Godfrey. He had two choices, any reasonable person would choose to back out. Winning a game wasn’t worth putting their mother at risk.

He would carry both plans out. Make sure Arnold knew about all his summons and also force Godfrey to the wall with the threat.

’Chosen One or not, as long as he bleeds, I won’t let him live for long.’

"Frey?" A soft voice rang as Valentina walked into her son’s room only to find him sitting cross-legged, meditating.
