Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights novel Chapter 407

Chapter 407: Bathed In Crimson

Isolde stood before a floor-to-ceiling glass wall, gazing at the expanse of the dragon city beyond the greenery around the mansion with folded arms.

Not far from her was Isaac. About a dozen feet behind, he also gazed at the bright sun that illuminated the room.

Then, he turned his head to the screen. What he saw with his own eyes and what was on the screen were complete opposites. On the screen were different clips from several countries.

The news anchors were currently discussing the state of the world. From the clips, he could see cities with red gates. It was happening in every part of the world, every country, not one was exempt.

The skies were dark and the earth was bathed in the crimson glow of these gates. Indeed, this was the Ruination, right before their eyes.

People were being told to head for bunkers prepared by the authorities, for what was coming was an event many foresee to be even worse than the first apocalypse.

But it was worse, way worse... especially because where he stood might be one of the worst places to be because Staten Island, a place that had never recorded a red gate and had a low rate of dungeon breaks and outbreaks, was about to be swallowed by the most fearsome green gate dungeon ever seen.

People were already running to the island for refuge but they were mistaken. It was better to take their chances with the monsters out there than with what was about to descend on this island.

Isaac turned to Isolde. "Shouldn’t we warn people?"

"I’ve blocked off all the ferries and sent people to make announcements that Staten Island isn’t safe. I also let them know it was the last place they would want to be. In return for that, they’ve been cussing and accusing me of being inhumane."

Isolde tilted her head slightly so Isaac could see a bit of her face. "They want the dragon’s protection yet refuse to accept it when that dragon tells them to stay away because its cave is more dangerous. I guess fear does indeed make people become irrational."

She exhaled. "Apparently, the public outside of Staten thinks I am the greatest mistake my father ever made."

She almost chuckled.

Isaac’s hands went to his head. He packed his hair and released it while exhaling heavily. "Even if we bring people into Pendragon Island, there might be no way for them to leave. Leaving would mean death." Isaac lowered his head.

"I can’t believe Cain was right about this. It wasn’t even more than two hours after I came with Godfrey yesterday that the Ruination began."

Isolde squinted. "Firstly, we can’t bring hundreds of thousands of people onto this island. The economy will collapse in a matter of weeks. That aside, this island might cease to exist after a while. We’ve never heard of a dungeon surviving inside another dungeon. Secondly, Cain is only right this time because of his interest in earth. He doesn’t want it to be destroyed. Aside from that, he’s a pretentious man and the most filthy liar, the worst kind in existence."
