"There are people out there, summoners who didn’t decide their summon. None of us did. So why judge us for what we have no control over, by binding us with Foundational Laws when that just makes everyone discriminate against us more?"
Watching this in her dark room, Chu Ran’s eyes moistened.
"Those laws treated us like monsters. We’re humans too, born just like you. I’m asking the authorities, why was no concern shown to humanoid summoners? We are not born Fanatics. Not all of us want our summons to eat beast summons!"
"I was bullied, laughed at, mocked, and scorned. My father was a hero; I was mocked for that. I awakened a humanoid, I was laughed at because they called it a golem. When it wasn’t, when I thought I had the chance to grow to the top, they labeled me a threat and a Fanatic. I was just sixteen..."
Wang Yibo, her little brother, approached the door and was about to knock but heard soft sobs. His eyes grew wide.
He opened the door and rushed in only to see his big sister in one corner of her bed. The entire room was dark, but the light from her phone illuminated her face.
Yibo’s hands shook when he saw her teary eyes. His mouth opened, but no words came out.
"I knew she’d cry. What a pitiful whelp. Godfrey’s out there saying absolute rubbish, and you, who supported the activities of these Fanatics, are here crying."
Yuan’s cold voice made Yibo turn. He saw his big brother by the door. He had just arrived, and it seemed more like he came here for this purpose.
"Stop shedding those stupid tears. Nothing he says is going to change a thing." Yuan looked at his younger brother, who glared at him.
"Not a word from you. That cute squirrel of yours would have been food if it wasn’t for the Foundational Laws binding her." Yuan turned.
"Those who haven’t seen it don’t know how vile these people are. I would rather take my chances with wild beasts or dungeons than stay in the same room with a humanoid summoner who isn’t bound."
With those final words, he walked away.
Only if he had grown past this Lord Tier. He would have dealt with Godfrey long ago, but who knew even fate was so stupid?
It would rather give opportunity and talent to someone like Godfrey out of a class of people better than him.
Chu Ran’s moist eyes hardened. Golden light flashed, and a huge muscular woman smashed through the wall, grabbed Yuan, and lifted him up like he weighed nothing.
Yuan’s eyes widened to the limit. His anger dissolved into fear under the intensity of this woman’s golden eyes.
All the hair on his body rose up, one after the other.
He could feel it. This summon was contemplating ripping off his head. His mind screamed at him... Was this the end?!
Sweat poured out, and at that moment, he did what a brave young man would do. Yuan unleashed his wolf only for it to be sent out of the building with one nonchalant slap.
Blood and a good amount of the wolf’s fangs littered the floor as it tore through walls and crashed outside the building.
’Chu... Ran...!’
Yuan almost melted. Was this thing this strong all this while?
Yuan had no idea the being before him was so powerful mentally that the authorities couldn’t force her to fight for them, so they had to regularly weaken her.
Chu Ran had a low Symbiosis, no more than 15%, making her physically weak compared to her brother.
She came out of her room, and Morningstar let Yuan drop to the ground. He collapsed, coughing vehemently.
