Chapter 94: Just One Sophomore

"Jon is a genius in combat. His battle awareness has always been on the high side from a young age. I’m afraid Godfrey has met his match," Sebastian said solemnly.

On the field, both of them locked eyes, anger and hate swelled within, and at the same time, they dashed forward.

Godfrey toward Jon.

Jon toward Godfrey.

Godfrey covered a greater distance, throwing a punch that tore through the air, but instead of hitting flesh, it moved right through smoke as Jon reappeared behind him.

A white, translucent projection of a seven-foot-tall weasel standing on its two feet, with bone blades for arms, flared to life beside him.

It swung its bone blades, slicing off Godfrey’s right forearm even after Godfrey, through instinct, covered himself in golden armor.

’I promised to take off that arm!’ Jon coldly said inwardly.

The mana construct lifted its right blade and struck down, but Godfrey burst into smoke.

Projection, a skill that allowed the summoner to manifest a spectral construct of the summon, which would also have the same tier as the main summon but consumed quite a great amount of mana.

What Godfrey faced was an 8.3 Lord-tier summon with terrifying speed and lethality. While many students held their mouths in shock at the sight of Godfrey’s severed forearm, Jon’s eyes followed the black smoke Godfrey had turned into.

’Good. He has copied my skill. No one knows how to use that skill better than me, and turning into smoke doesn’t last long!’

The moment Jon came to that conclusion, Godfrey reappeared, but a small bluish-purple flame ball was already in the center of his left palm.

Jon’s eyes widened as Godfrey launched it. Midway, a translucent gray wolf jumped into the flame ball’s path and swallowed it. Smoke came out of its fangs.

It lunged at Godfrey, swinging its paw, which Godfrey leaped backward to dodge. Seizing the opportunity of being in his blind spot, Yuan, already covered in wolf fur and looking like a gray werewolf, charged. Due to the amount of blood already spilled, he was growing stronger and stronger by the second, and so he clawed at Godfrey’s back.

Godfrey twisted his body, lightning crackling off him. The claw grazed his back, ripping through his armor and flesh, but his Black-Out eyes still didn’t waver despite the pain.

He was already lost to his rage. His gauntleted fist struck Yuan’s chin, launching the seven-foot-tall werewolf man into the air, blood trailing after him.

A massive amount of smoke moved toward him like a tide, and two smoke-like bone blades came out of it. Godfrey fired a flame ball in return, but even after a huge portion of the smoke was vaporized, he couldn’t see Jon.

However, something else came out, the white translucent projection of Jon’s summon. It darted toward him at hyper speed, slashing at him several times, but Godfrey evaded, both of them flickering from one spot to another.

Most people couldn’t even follow the battle.

The wolf lunged once more, forcing Godfrey to manifest and throw three flame balls, which blew off the wolf’s head.

He spun in a clockwise direction, the same direction the weasel projection swung its blade, so instead of cutting him, the blade merely grazed him as Godfrey’s roundhouse kick struck its head, launching it through the smoke and into the bleachers.

"I must admit, you’re strong," Yuan said as he approached Godfrey. Meanwhile, Jon hid in a wall of smoke that swirled around Godfrey and Yuan.

Godfrey knew Yuan was waiting to take away another of his limbs. All it would take was just for him to put down his guard, and that was what Yuan wanted to achieve.

"But you’re fighting the wrong person. Don’t let us destroy you," Yuan said, stretching forth his hand to offer one last chance of grace.

"Apologize to the King, and we—"

"No." Godfrey’s reply was instant.

"Well then. I grow stronger once blood is spilled, and you are constantly spilling blood. You can’t win. It’s impossible," Yuan growled, his size increasing to nine feet. His fur grew tougher, his fangs and claws hard enough to slice through an 8.0 defense Lord-tier.

This was what made Yuan the Number Two. He might not start great, but he always ended the victor as long as there was blood, and Godfrey’s lost limb gave him plenty of it.

Yuan charged at Godfrey and threw a kick at him. To his shock, Godfrey leaned toward the kick, blocking it with the shoulder of the arm that had lost its forearm.

Pain assaulted him, but his Black-Out eyes narrowed in.

Mountain could copy three skills at once. He had never used ice since, meaning there was one more slot for a skill, a skill that he had copied but kept secret.
