"You heard what I said perfectly well."
Walker Grant’s low, magnetic voice was devoid of emotion.
"No." Sunny Reed gritted her teeth. "I only have Noah. He’s my son. You can’t take him from me."
Walker Grant glanced at her. "But it seems you don’t have time to take care of him now."
"I do! I can take good care of him," Sunny Reed said urgently. "Walker, you can’t do this. He’s the only child Julian and I have. If he’s not with me, I won’t be able to go on living."
Walker Grant remained silent.
Not long after Julian Grant passed away, Sunny Reed went abroad to clear her head. When she unexpectedly discovered she was pregnant, she was overjoyed.
She had poured all of her emotions into this child.
He knew all of this.
Walker Grant’s gaze darkened slightly. "You’re working at the voice acting company now, and Father wants to give you shares to open a new branch. Even if it’s just for appearances, you’ll have to go often. You’ll become very busy. You won’t be able to balance work and family."
His tone was mild, yet it held a firm edge that brooked no refusal. "Sister-in-law, between the two, you can only choose one."
Sunny Reed’s hand clenched into a fist. "Walker, why are you doing this?"
Walker Grant replied calmly, "I just want Noah to live in a loving environment. I want him to know that even though he’s lost his father, there are still many people who love him. I don’t want him growing up lonely, all by himself in a big house."
Sunny Reed was furious!
’He’s making me give up my shares in the Reed Group!’
She finally understood what he was getting at!
’He was using my son to threaten me—all for Chloe Reed!’
Sunny Reed took a deep breath before saying, "Alright. I understand."
At this point, she only had one choice.
The car soon arrived at the company building. Walker Grant and Sunny Reed went up together.
’So which one does he actually like?’
’He shows up with Sunny Reed, then immediately asks for Chloe Reed.’
’He got Sunny Reed a job here before this, and even invested in the company.’
Tsk...
’Rich people sure know how to play around.’
’He’s got his eyes on both sisters, hasn’t he?’
However, he naturally wouldn’t get involved in these matters. As long as it didn’t affect his work schedule, it was fine.
Just then, Walker Grant’s phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from Judith Pierce.
He stepped out to answer the call. "Hello, Mom."
Judith Pierce’s exasperated voice came through the phone. "Walker Grant, what did you do to upset Chloe this time? She just called me, insisting she has to divorce you. She said she hasn’t wronged a single one of us all these years and that we shouldn’t be manipulating her like this. Ugh... Tell me, what rotten thing have you done now?"
