Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Auctioning the Wedding Ring

Chloe Reed let out a muffled groan, caught completely off guard.

The man’s heavy body pressed down on her, his searing heat transferring to her as if to melt her away.

"What are you doing?!"

Annoyance flickered across Chloe Reed’s face as she reached out to push him.

But his body was just too heavy. She couldn’t move him!

"Chloe."

Walker Grant’s breath fanned the side of her neck, his voice raspy and intimate. "I’m hurting."

Chloe Reed’s breath hitched.

She closed her eyes and said mockingly, "What’s the point of doing this?"

Walker Grant said nothing more, his arms tightening slightly as he held her soft body.

Before their wedding anniversary, they had gotten along well enough. They were intimate, sharing kisses and embraces.

And yet, only a few short days had passed.

He felt as if he were in a trance. Holding her again, the empty place in his heart was suddenly filled.

Her aura, her scent, every part of her was intoxicatingly familiar to him.

His lips brushed against her neck, leaving a mark on her delicate skin.

Chloe Reed stared at the ornate ceiling. Her body was trembling, but her mind was exceptionally clear and rational.

"You’ve been to Sunny Reed’s place so many times. How far have you two gone? Have you done all the things with her that you’ve done with me?"

The man kissing her froze. A second later, he bit down hard on her collarbone.

The sharp pain made her brow furrow, and it hurt so much that tears welled in her eyes.

"Chloe Reed, are you heartless?"

The hall had erupted in joyous laughter.

Now, only four years later, all she hoped was that he would keep his word. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Walker Grant’s breathing was heavy, a hostile air settling over his features. Just then, his phone rang. He took it out and answered, "Hello?"

"Mr. Grant, we’ve found the person who sent the email to your wife. He’s a paparazzo who constantly follows celebrities. At that time, he happened to be in Country M tailing a celebrity and coincidentally photographed you and the Eldest Young Mistress."

"Hah."

Walker Grant sneered. "There’s no such thing as coincidence. Investigate him. I want to know everything, down to the year he was weaned and the day he started school!"

"Yes, sir."

...

Chloe Reed sent a photo of her ring to Iris Yates, then called her. "Help me auction this."

Iris Yates exclaimed, "Chloe! Isn’t this your wedding ring? Walker Grant spent three hundred million on it at an auction back in the day. You’ve treasured it all these years, why do you want to sell it now?"
