Charles Reed’s expression was grim!
’I never imagined it would come to this! What a miscalculation!’
Right now, the old woman was in a coma, her own granddaughter was missing, and that massive fortune was just sitting there, untouched.
Charles Reed mulled it over for a long while before saying, "I’ll give you a partial antidote to temporarily counteract the poison and wake her up. Let her be the one to decide to transfer the assets to your mother."
He paused, then added cautiously, "But this can only happen after you find Sunny."
Chloe Reed’s hands clenched into tight fists. It took every ounce of her strength to keep her emotions in check.
She turned and walked straight out of the hospital room.
Walker Grant took her hand and said, "Do you want revenge?"
Chloe Reed looked at him. "What are you planning to do?"
Walker Grant’s lips twitched into a smirk, but his eyes were ice-cold. "I can’t kill him, but I can certainly make him suffer a little."
"Okay."
The rage in Chloe Reed’s chest had nowhere to go. The sight of Charles Reed’s true colors disgusted her!
He would lock Autumn Linton in a psychiatric hospital to protect his own interests, and he would poison Grandma.
’A man like that doesn’t even deserve to be called human!’
Iris Yates had been dazed and confused the entire time. It wasn’t until they were in the car that she finally spoke. "Chloe, are these really the same people I thought I knew?"
She remembered them being so different before.
Chloe Reed gave a bitter smile. "I can’t believe it either, but it’s the truth."
Iris Yates murmured, "How terrifying."
Something suddenly clicked in Chloe Reed’s mind. She slapped her thigh and said, "I saw someone who looked just like her in the backyard of a restaurant I was at earlier! But when I sent Daniel Hayes to look, he didn’t find anything..."
Walker Grant asked, "Which restaurant?"
Chloe Reed told him the name.
He replied, "I’ll have someone look into it."
Chloe Reed watched as he made a call, methodically giving out orders. She lowered her gaze slightly, her heart filled with anxiety.
A moment later, he looked at her and said, "Come back to the old family home with me first."
Chloe Reed asked, confused, "Why are we going to the old family home?"
Walker Grant said, "She refused to go abroad, which means she either couldn’t bear to leave Noah, or she had some other purpose. So now, we keep Noah with us. She’s bound to show up eventually."
