"I had people keeping an eye on Miles Hawthorne. After you two separated yesterday, he went home first. But in the early hours of the morning, he left his house and drove to an old residential building on the outskirts of the city. After he was gone, my men went in to investigate. We can confirm that Sunny Reed is staying there."
As Chloe Reed listened, her eyes gradually widened. "So he’s really the one who took Sunny Reed!"
"Mm."
A look of confusion crossed Chloe Reed’s face. "But why would he do that? He knows Sunny Reed and I don’t get along. He..."
Her lips trembled, and she trailed off.
She remembered the file Walker Grant had shown her. Miles Hawthorne’s background was far from simple. It was possible everything she’d been through had been his doing.
’So, it was no surprise that he’d hidden Sunny Reed away.’
Walker Grant said, "He’s hidden Sunny Reed away, and he might be planning to make a move against you. Chloe, the choice is yours now. Do you want to go get Sunny Reed right away, or wait and see what Miles Hawthorne is planning?"
Chloe Reed lowered her gaze, glancing over at her grandmother in the hospital bed. "I can’t wait," she said. "Now that we’ve confirmed it, what’s the point in waiting? I have to find Sunny Reed. I have to save my grandma."
"Alright."
Walker Grant took out his phone and sent a message.
Chloe Reed said, "I’m going with you."
"Alright."
Walker Grant had wanted to keep her by his side anyway.
Although the threats from abroad were gone, he only felt at ease when she was with him.
Chloe Reed asked Daniel Hayes and Aunt Woods to stay and look after her grandmother, then got into Walker Grant’s car.
As the car drove along, Chloe Reed’s gaze was remarkably calm. She looked at him and asked, "Do you have any poison?"
Hearing this, Walker Grant raised an eyebrow. "What are you planning to do?"
