Sunny Reed was playing a game with Noah.
Noah had taken a partial antidote and was awake now. But he was extremely weak, his little face unusually pale, and he had no energy, so he could only nestle in Sunny Reed’s arms.
Noah felt awful. He was nauseous and his head ached, but he didn’t want to leave his mother, so he said nothing. He was afraid that if he did, his Little Uncle would send him to the hospital, and then he wouldn’t be able to see his mom anymore.
It had been so hard for him to finally see his mom.
When the butler came to announce that Walker Grant wanted to see Sunny Reed, Noah immediately grabbed her hand. He looked at the butler and asked timidly, "Can I go with her?"
The butler said gently, "Young Master, you should rest since you’re not feeling well. The Young Mistress will be with you the whole time."
Noah’s eyes lit up. "Really?"
He’d thought his Little Uncle had come to drive his mother away this time.
The butler nodded. "Yes, so you don’t need to worry."
Only then did Noah relax and let go of her hand.
Panic flared in Sunny Reed’s heart, but after a glance at Noah’s pale little face, she calmed down slightly.
’As long as he can’t get the antidote, Walker Grant won’t do anything to me. There’s no need to be afraid!’
Sunny Reed got up and followed the butler downstairs.
In the living room were not only Walker Grant, but also Nathaniel Monroe and another woman she didn’t recognize.
She felt the woman looked familiar, but she couldn’t place her for the life of her.
Sunny Reed looked at Walker Grant warily and asked, "What do you want with me?"
Walker Grant said coolly, "Sit."
