Walker Grant slid off her and lay down at her side, his arm still draped over her. "How about we sleep like this?" he asked. "I promise I won’t try anything."

"Did I wake you?"

Walker Grant detected her heavier breathing and knew she was awake. Facing her, he said resignedly, "I was too uncomfortable to sleep. I’m sorry."
