Chapter 18 Then We Have a Deal
Orion told him the truth.
“Then are you willing to help me?”
Julian looked at the striking Alpha in front of him, trying to catch even the faintest shift in those deep, cold
eyes.
“Why me?”
Orion’s low voice remained even.
But this time, he did not wait for Julian’s answer. He answered the question himself.
“Because I marked you. Right now, your dependence on me comes from instinct. It doesn’t mean you truly think I’m trustworthy.”
Julian paused.
Orion continued, “Julian, the first thing you need to learn as an Omega is this: don’t trust any Alpha too easily. That includes me, even if I saved you and marked you.”
For a moment, all three people in the room fell quiet.
Quentin almost immediately looked at Julian.
He knew better than anyone how cold and blunt his boss could be.
But Julian was a little Omega.
More importantly, he was a little Omega who had only just been marked by the General.
For most Omegas, being rejected by the Alpha who marked them would be emotionally devastating.
And Julian was still sick. His unstable pheromones could easily affect his mood.
Then Quentin heard Julian say, “I didn’t say I trusted you. I said you looked like a suitable trade partner.”
Quentin: “?”
A what?
If Orion had not been sitting right there, Quentin would have genuinely suggested that this little Omega
take a closer look.
Everyone knew what kind of person their boss was.
A goose could fly past him and lose a handful of feathers. A beast could run past him and lose a layer of skin.
Even nobles and interstellar pirates had grown tired of calling him Orion the Skinner behind his back.

At that moment, those amber catlike eyes were bright and sharp, full of sly calculation.
“You’re powerful. You have resources, ability, and judgment. Most importantly, you aren’t interested in une just because I’m an Omega.”
Orion lowered his gaze.
A faint curve appeared at the corner of his mouth, and the restrained pressure around him sharpened in
instant.
“Then why should I help you? Out of kindness?”
“Obviously not.”
The boy’s eyes widened slightly, as if silently asking, Do you believe that yourself?
Unfortunately, Orion was clearly even more shameless than Julian expected. He remained perfectly calm under that doubtful gaze.
So Julian simply said it outright.
“Because you need me too. Otherwise, you wouldn’t still be sitting here wasting time with me. Am I wrong. sir?”
Quentin: “?”
He/snapped his gaze toward Orion and suddenly felt like the slowest person in the room.
Because Orion did not deny it.
And if Orion did not deny it, that meant Julian was not bluffing.
But the General’s condition…
“Yes and no.”
The pressure around Orion disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
He even lifted his long fingers and lightly touched Julian’s pale forehead.
“I gave you a temporary mark yesterday. As your temporary Alpha, I’m responsible for providing you with pheromones while the mark lasts, especially during your pheromone dysregulation phase.”
After confirming that Julian’s fever had gone down, Orion slowly withdrew his hand.
“At the same time, I noticed something unusual about your healing psychic power. It may genuinely help me. But that will have to wait until your psychic sea fully stabilizes and you can successfully summon your spirit form.”
“So the deal stands?”
Julian looked up at him.

The messy black hair falling over his forehead made his skin look even paler and colder, like a delicate porcelain doll-quiet, beautiful, and a little dazed.
He really was an unusually pretty little Omega.
Orion looked away and slowly stood.
“The deal stands.”
The moment Julian heard that, his entire body relaxed.
But the conversation was not over yet.
