Chapter 19 The Lotus Refused to Behave

Anne slammed her hand on the table and rose to her feet.

Compared with Grant and Cedric, she was the one most devastated by this assessment.

Because Beta students had suffered the worst casualties.

Those ordinary children had also been the ones who worked the hardest.

“Please rest assured. The Legion reviewed the casualty list as soon as possible. I will have specialists contact their families immediately and provide sufficient compensation.”

The senior official did not get angry at Anne’s attitude.

If anything, his smile grew even kinder.

“This is a critical period for Prince Harold. His Highness has already reached out to your academy leadership. Ms. Moore, I’m sure you understand what I mean.”

The moment he said that, Anne understood.

No matter how angry she was, he was telling her to shut up.

“Move. All of you, get the hell out of my way!”

Meanwhile, in the student camp, a disheveled Noah Wells shoved his way into the S-rank squad area, his eyes bloodshot.

He had spent an entire day and night searching with Ms. Moore. He had only just returned to camp, only to hear that someone in the S-rank squad area had already built a bonfire just to cheer up a certain Omega.

“What the hell are you yelling about?”

Tristan Whitmore stood up beside the bonfire, irritated.

Just seeing the Beta standing in front of him made his temper flare.

Not only Tristan, but Caelan Rookwood, the two first-year cadets on their squad, and Elias Whitmore all looked up at the same time.

“What am I yelling about?”

Noah laughed.

“You’re Tristan Whitmore, right? Julian Shaw’s biological/brother. We fought our way out of hell to come ask you for help. And you? Did you go save him? Forget being his brother. Even if he were just an ordinary classmate, shouldn’t you have at least gone to check?”

Tristan’s arrogant momentum stalled for a second.

But he quickly forced it back.

I’ve never recognized him as my brother. Eli is my only brother.”

“Yeah, of course. Your fake brother sheds a couple of fake tears, and all of you build him a bonfire and huss over him. What about the real one? He could be nothing but bones by now, and you still wouldn’t care. would you?”

Noah’s words immediately set the surrounding students whispering.

Not everyone got to hear gossip about the Whitmore family this close up.

Tristan looked briefly dazed, as if Noah’s words had actually struck him. For a moment, he did not refusé

him.

Instead, Caelan Rookwood lifted his glacial blue eyes and spoke in a voice colder than frost.

“He chose a military academy. That means he should have been prepared to die at any time. As for Eli, don’t you think you owe him an apology for dragging someone else’s private family matters into public?”

“Caelan…”

Elias’s eyes were red, as if he had only just stopped crying. The red tear mole beneath his eye looked like a bright, fragile jewel, making it difficult for anyone to blame him.

“Exactly. Stop attacking Eli!”

Tristan punched Noah hard in the face.

“Eli was the one who wanted to save Julian the most. He’s the one hurting the most right now. But Julian was only a Beta. Even if we had gone, it probably would’ve been too late. We had to save the students we still had time to save…”

Tristan sounded as if he was trying to convince Noah.

But really, he was trying to convince himself.

No matter what, Julian was already dead.

That was not Eli’s fault.

And it was not his fault either.

Right.

Julian had done this to himself.

Meanwhile, the so-called troublemaker Julian slept soundly through the night. By the next afternoon, he met his attending physician again.

“How are you feeling? Better?”

“A little.”

Julian nodded, then raised his hand in front of Quentin.

A flower bud appeared amid waves of pale green light and slowly bloomed. The unique pulse of healing psychic power spread outward like ripples on water, instantly refreshing Quentin, who had been working all’ night.

What appeared before him was clearly an Omega’s plant-type spirit form.

The Thousand-Petal Azure Lotus.

But Quentin’s surprise lasted only a few seconds before Julian said, visibly speechless, “The problem is it. seems to have its own opinions. I can summon it, but I can’t make it go back. What am I supposed to do?”

Quentin: “?”
