Chapter 196 Julian Versus the Gate
One look was enough to startle everyone.
Orion arrived to find his little Omega planted stubbornly beneath the screening gate, his face all but saying “Your machine is wrong. I am absolutely fine.”
“Awoo, awoo…”
The wolf cub kept rubbing its fluffy head against Julian’s cheek, doing its best to calm him down
It was almost working.
Unfortunately, the screening gate had no sense of timing.
The moment Julian stood still, the red light flashed again.
Julian went silent.
This thing was targeting him.
He simply had no proof.
As Julian continued his silent battle with the gate, more people gathered around the plaza.
Caleb, Laurie, Anya, and the others exchanged looks, then spoke almost at the same time.
“The gate must be broken. It could be anyone, but it cannot be him.”
“Exactly. I’d believe I was infected before I believed he was.”
“Dr. R, fix your gate. It’s flashing red at your own student. Does that sound reasonable to you?”
Everyone had a different theory.
But every theory reached the same conclusion.
Julian was fine.
The gate was not.
Honestly, even R thought so.
‘Sir Waffles trotted over as well, pressing his furry little head against Julian’s pant leg and meowing softly to
comfort him.
Orion stepped up to the gate and looked at the stubborn Omega still refusing to leave.
“Julian, come out first. I’ll take you for a detailed check.”
“Why should I get checked?”
juhan did not move.

Chapter 196 Julian Versus the Gate
His catlike eyes stared straight at Orion, full of righteous offense.
“Do you think I’m infected too?”
Orion lowered his head and laughed.
“Hard to say.
Julian froze.
Bold.
Very bold.
Luckily, before Cat Julian could fully bristle, Orion added gently, “You may not have an insectoid inside you, but you probably did have a serious genetic illness before.”
Julian narrowed his eyes.
He remembered how the original owner had died.
So he said nothing. He only blinked at Orion, telling him to keep going.
Orion explained it in plain terms.
“The screening gate amplifies the body’s natural frequency and looks for abnormal wave patterns. That let it screen large groups quickly without physical contact. A severe genetic disease can also create abnormal readings.”
Julian nodded.
Then he said with certainty, “There are no bugs inside me.”
He had sensed something wrong with Morday and the others before.
He simply had not examined it closely or connected it to insectoid parasitism.
But if there were truly an insectoid in his own body, his spiritual/sense could not have missed it.
“I know.”
Orion reached toward him, his certainty even stronger than Julian’s.
“You trust me that much? What if I really am an insectoid spy? What if the insectoid queen sent me here to fool a gullible Alpha like you?”
“If the insectoids had someone like you as a spy, they wouldn’t need to parasitize humans.”
Orion paused, then smiled.
“They would put you in a shrine and worship you. Using you to trick me would be far too wasteful.”
Julian’s expression turned solemn.

e Gate
This Alpha was dangerously good with words.
The wolf cub picked the perfect moment to lean into him too, rubbing against him and acting sharneles
cute.
Hateful.
This cub had tricks as well.
Between Orion’s patient coaxing and the wolf cub’s fluffy attack, Julian finally abandoned the A01 screep gate and let someone else use it.
R took him aside for a second round of testing.
To make the parasite screening more reliable, R’s team had prepared two separate checks.
The first was the frequency screening gate.
The second was the parasite verification scanner.
Unlike the gate, which only performed a preliminary check, the scanner produced a real-time heat map c the body. Any area suspected of parasitism would be highlighted, followed by a risk assessment.
“Stand still. Your teacher will personally check whether you have a bug in you.”
R held the scanner herself.
Old Tyrell, Master Byron Frost, Yorland, and several others immediately crowded closer, treating Julian lik a live teaching specimen.
“Don’t worry. Even if there really is a bug, I’ll grab it out with the bio-foreign-body removal device and you’ll be perfectly fine again.”
Julian said nothing.
Were they cursing him now?
The scanner swept over him once.
